Any advantage in having a numbered keyword URL??? :D

This may be an easy question, but I couldn't find the answer though.
If I need to use my keyword "example" in my url, which one is better SE friendly, 123example.com or getexample.com. (without considering benefits from the keywords like 'get example', 'for example' etc.)

If you can give me any links on the topic, it is high;y appreciated.

    Thanx in advance. :)

I'd go with the latter, and not because of the search engines. It just "looks" legitimate to me, unlike the former.

The less other characters in the domain the better. For example "bexample.com" has only 1 extra letter and would therefore be better.

I would pick a two word keyword phrase that includes "example" that you think at least some people would search for. If you think they would search for "get example" even somewhat frequently then "getexample.com" is going to rank for that phrase relatively easily since the domain is an EXACT match. Other than that (having your domain name EXACTLY match the search phrase) keyword phrases in the domain don't seem to carry that much more weight than having the keyword in a folder or page name in the URL.

I agree totally w/ Dan NOT to use numbers... those sites don't look legitimate... looks like some money making scheme franchised site.

URLs like 123example.com or a1locksmith.com or yoursite1.com don't look professional and spread the message that the site owner was running out of ideas. they don't work very well for branding either. use the second one

Well an exception could be made for "A-1 Locksmith Services" -- it'd probably qualify as a brand name. But the rest of your examples... yeah... uhm...

thats a great point here you made ....>> (((having your domain name EXACTLY match the search phrase) keyword phrases in the domain don't seem to carry that much more weight than having the keyword in a folder or page name in the URL))))

to another extent which one of any domains could render more traffic... is the main one without the number ....... im amazed at the seo expert advice here ......

Canonical It sounds like (( keyword phrases in the domain don't seem to carry that much more weight))) is this due to to many website over saturating the web with them or just because to many keywords in domain???? is it better to go with a standard two word domain over one with dasheses or one with three keywords.......... this has to be where webmaster need to know the difference maker when building up websites..... please display ....... by the way green lights to your coments lol see user CP

Well I think if the domain name 101tipsonvista.com it does look professional, rite?

I think my question was a little unclear. What I would like to know is whether there is any advantage for the domain gettipsonvista.com over 101tipsonvista.com in getting higher ranking in a Search Engine for the keyword 'tips on vista' provided the backlinks, PR and all the other SERP determining factors remaining the same.

Thanks for all your answers. :)

(Off-topic: I'd personally go with 101vistatips.com myself just because it's straight to the point; but yeah, I'd consider it to be a legit resource if it flat out says what the site's about, as "101 Vista Tips" clearly would in this case.)

I agree with dan unless you can stir up a more searchable domain :) lol remeber targeting the root cause for searchers to surf pages is from the ground floor root domain ..

Thanx for the answers, but still the question remains unanswered. :( . I don't mind the traffic, but what I want to know is the effect of those domains on the SERP for the keyword 'tips on vista'.
