I need help. I am interested in Web Design/Development, Graphic Design, and Programming. I would like to know:

Which of these is in greater demand?

What programming languages or applications are in greatest demand?

Is there anyone here who would be willing to act as a mentor, to train me in the recommended languages or apps? I do know a little HTML and VB.net. In return, I will help on your projects for six months, free. This may be considered an internship of sorts.

If no one can help as a mentor, I would also appreciate any recommendations for good IT classes in Southern California, LA county. Thanks in advance.

PHP coding and Photoshop design are the things which I find to be in permanent demand, and of course XHTML/CSS conversion.

I agree, although it seems always easier to find people who want a website design and the likes. Plus in our setting here, web designers get paid more than the programmers. LOL!

Classes and Guru's won't help you a lot.To learn about it you have to find the path yourself and by that you will become self-confident and be able to face anyone.

First of all I guess you are looking out for money than knowledge; you should learn a specific thing in computer that you like most about it.

Look at the number of projects in the different categories of http://www.getafreelancer.com
    PHP (800)
    Website Design (752)
    Graphic Design (326)

It is best for you to study programming languages like PHP or C#/ASP, if you have good analytical and algorithmic skills of course. You'll get paid more compared to graphic design or webdesign-related job.
