Build some traffic and then monetize it from cpc or cpa.

 

I think Chancey is right on the money. First you need to build some traffic then I would recommend a CPC as well. Also you could even do paid surveys once you have some good traffic and active members.

As you can see. I'm new to this forum.. So what is a " CPC " or " CPA " :X
I geuss CPC will be Cost per Click or some,,
But whats CPA.

forums are already saturated,, it is difficult to promote a forum unless if you invest $$$$ in ppc

 

If you have pagerank, you could head over to the link sales section and sell links off your website.

If you have many visitors, you can sell banner advertising.

With those two, you can easily gain enough money to keep your website payed for and it won't take more than an hour to put the links up or the banner up.

 

sorry for the hijack, but what would people here recommend to generate traffic in forum? users attracts users, but you don't have users to begin with, what would you do to stir a forum

 

I'm also interested in knowing how to generate traffic in forum without many users on it... Could someone give some advises about it? Thanks

 

Some thinking-out-loud FREE ideas:

1- self posting a lot of 'valuable' content
2- participation in RELEVANT forums with your forum link in the signature
3- participation in Q&A sites (again with link to your forum)
4- starting a blog
5- creating social media pages (Squidoo, Hubpages, Weebly...etc)
6- social bookmarking
7- post 'discussion inducing' topics
8- post controversial topics

Yeah...I would have to agree with most others(sorry)! Forums are already saturated and most people are already involved in the most established ones for their niches. I'm sure it can be done, however I think that building traffic and popularity would probably be a bit on the slow side

 

Remember, no content=no visitors.

 

Besides, People want to join a forum with activity, no one wants to join a dead community and if they do join they most likely will not come back. So, in any means, try to make your forum as active as possible.

 

you should make a team of friends who will post actively in your forums. Then use some SEO to get noticed on the google and then when you get a good ammount of people to join and become active use your affiliate programs.

 

Along these same lines, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with forum post exchange services?

There was one connected to a forum-owners site, but I heard the service stopped. I don't know which ones are still working - if any.

But I'm interested in using a service like to promote my forum if there are any good ones.

 

you need to do some hardwork, build some backlink first

 

Boost your forum first, and get more traffic and then setup google or other affiliate program to put Ads on your forum, and get paid by the affiliate, and other like kochanck27 said, sell pagerank links and banner ads too!
