Most posts are PayPal bashing so I thought I'd start one with my good experience. I used my PayPal debit card at a Chase Bank machine to withdraw $400. The machine churned and spat out a receipt saying Transaction Denied and a new screen message that This Chase ATM is Currently Unable To Dispense Cash. Unfortunately they took the $400 from my PayPal account and gave me no cash. Chase said that they had no way of putting money back into my PayPal account even though it was their fault. I phoned PayPal, 2 minutes on hold, & talked to a helpful & friendly rep. He said that they'd look into it and 1/2 hour later I received an email that they would return the money within 48 hours. Exactly 48 hours later (I wish it was sooner) it was back in my account. I always worry about PayPal/ATM transactions & make sure that I only use swipe machines - not ones that eat your card.
Hey, I also made very good experiences with paypal. I'm using it since half a year, already made over 6000 Euro and haven't had any problems at all yet. Two times I had to contact the service hotline, both times they were able to help me. Against disputes I'm securing myself with a statement in the money request I'm handing out to my customers.
With that, does Paypal automatically refuse disputes by buyers??Or is it just a statement to show PP proof later on??
I'm selling services for an online game. "By payment, you signify understanding and acceptance with the following. This is payment for virtual goods and is nonrefundable and not protected by paypal's buyer protection policies. By payment, you acknowledge receipt of goods and satisfaction. You waive right to dispute payment on grounds of receipt, quality, description or any other reason." With this sentence, I'm quite safe against buyer chargebacks. The second important thing is, to verify the buyers phone number and contact info, because it could be a fraud account. I'm doing this with sending an invoice, then I see his personal info and phone number, which I'm calling after.
PayPal backs the buyer when it comes to online virtual goods - there is no seller protection. This is regardless of whatever agreement you and the buyer have signed etc. If they file a dispute PayPal will independently assess it. Just curious: Do you operate a game? What do you mean by services?
