    Hi,

    I decided to go with HostGator for hosting my website and in confuse to select whether Linux or Windows?

    Which is the beter one to host a forum and blog website? Please suggest me...

    If you’re a new or casual Webmaster and your site is non-revenue generating with static HTML pages you generated from boxed software, you probablly need to go with Linux. This is the best solution overall for you because Linux hosting costs less and you hardly ever need to delve into the more advanced functions. Server operating system becomes a non-issue. All you need to do is to have a good host.

    I want to generate revenue also from this site, but not so greedy...

    I want to use bbPress for forum and WordPress for blog... does your opinion changes redwolf!!

    PHP is native for linux servers, while is an addon - for windows platform.
    Thus if you intend to use PHP + MySQL based scripts - you should opt for Linux Servers.

    Yeah then go for Linux, it's cheaper than windows and More reliable ;)

    PHP support for Windows has been much improved in 5.3 but I would still go for Linux when you need PHP + MySQL combo.

    HostGator only has Linux hosting at this time. They are still working on offering Windows hosting.
