Rotten tomatoes - Do you like this site? I am kind of confused with the rating system of this website. I have often seen this website rating, wonderful (and BOH ) movies as rotten and poor movies as fresh. Now I would like to know what's fresh in movies like 'Signs'? It was highly rated in RT. Fighting with an alien, just like fighting with a fellow human. Is it fresh? Then what do they call movies like MIB, which are the actual movies that show aliens. More over, this movie just looked like a improvised version of the Alfred Hitchcock's movie 'The birds'. When I was surfing a website, I found a hell lot of people praised about the movie Double Jeopardy. But Double Jeopardy was marked as rotten in RT. The same case in the movie SAW I use to ask this question many times. I don't actually remember many other 'not-so-good' movies that were marked fresh and great movies that were marked rotten in RT. But I have seen these kind of rating many a times. Now what do you think about this site? Is my taste differs from common people? or RT doesn't have the right taste?
Double Jeopardy sucked. Horrible movie. Signs was a horrible movie. Saw was interesting, but pretty stupid as well..it's really corny, I watch them for the same reason I watch movies like Hostel - they're torture porn. Really only watchable around halloween. I learned long ago never to trust reviews or word of mouth recommendations because they often tend to be crap. There are classics like Hitchcock and Godfather and shawkshank redemption that are loved by all..but the more hollywood and recent films tend to suck. People went on about Crash and Blood Diamonds, both of those sucked major. They went on about Iron Man and the Dark Knight, and while they were fun to watch they aren't worth watching a 2nd time.
Signs was actually a pretty decent movie. About 95% of the time I can agree with the critics on RT, occasionally a movie will go by that I completely disagree with on RT. Generally it is the first place I'll check for new movie ratings.
So that is all? Sign was a decent movie and I agree with that. That is the only reason that people praise about the movie? It's not a big deal to make a decent movie right? How should an Alien movie be? I really wonder how many of you got the real alien movie feel when you saw the creature that was called alien? I never get a proper response from people who praise the movie 'signs' if I ask them, what's special in the movie. If I praise a movie, I can explain why I praise it. But I just don't find a thing in the movie signs. It's all hype that last till the last scene. They maintained a hype. But there was nothing other than hype in the movie.
signs was ok until half way into the movie it became horrible. I don't know how you can say it was decent..I think you need to go back and watch it. It was horrible....all I have to say is "just swing"
