their not going to drop winxp support any time soon.vista was a failure and windows 7 hasn't been released yet.

they stopped win98 support years after the release of winxp and they still support win2000,i think.
also there is a feature of windows 7 that uses xp.

windows 7 is vista, but with fixes and some features. ;)

I've been with Windows XP for such a long time now and I am notreally sure if vista or 7 will work for me.

But if choosing between vista and 7, I am for Windows 7. I am not a big fan of Winodws Vista, I tried it for a week and decided to return to my very loyal Win XP.

No support not=Obsolete .We Windows XP users are not always getting support from Microsoft . Many of us turn off automatic Windows updates .Also since antivirus softwares are capable to take care about security issues ,there is not point in XP getting obsolete .XP rules and it will continue to rule in Netbook computers which are getting popular these days .So whats going to get obsolete is Windows Vista .Windows 7 and Windows XP will survive .

I'm using Windows Vista right now and a bit disappointed of it's performance. But I don't need to worry because I have read that Windows 7 will be offering Vista users and upgrade kit for it to tun as a Windows 7. They have very similar platforms:)

i heard many people are pretty disspointed with vistas performance. many things that ran on windows easily can't run on vista. my friend got a laptop with vista on it and he can't do half the things he can do with his old computer which is running windows. i think i will stick to windows for as long as i can. vista is just for looks in my oppinion.

I tried Vista months ago and for so many reason I am still going use XP for more years to come, and now that Windows 7 is coming I guess someday I will give it a try too...

And as long XP gives me the best experience surely I will stick to it.....

Our company just went on a windows 7 install frenzy so our software developers can play but I don't see XP support leaving anytime soon. Now the whole vista thing is a smoke screen, has anyone heard of the "Crystal Project" yet? If so let me know if it's myth or fact. :)

I'd wait for Windows 7 to be released. It will have longer support than Vista.
