Something Is Wrong With My Site. What?

I've put a lot of time and effort in one of my sites.

    Colon Care Tips

It's not a super site but it is a good site. The search term Colon Care puts my site at #3 of 3,240,000 sites in a Google serch. It also has a yahoo listing and the new Bing also.

The keyword term colon care gets approx 12,000 searches each month per Google

That is pretty good by my standards. What I don't understand is why am I not getting any CTR with the Google adsences links?

I run a Google Adsense report with the channel tag I use for the script and there is nothing, zero, nata, zip, in the money column.

So any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe you need to blend the ads into the website content. Use <div> tags and put it under your post title so that your visitors are more inclined to click on your ads.

The problem I can't get a handle on is the fact that I'm only getting 5 or 6 actual visitors.

I would think that having a good spot on Google/Yahoo/Bing with a search term that gets 400+ searches a day would bring some traffic.

Clicking on the link by accident alone should bring something.

I'm beginning to wonder if it ain't nothin but hype about getting a top spot on the SE's is nothing but another way to sell something to someone wanting a good spot.

I have Google analytic tied in to track what is going on and so far I am not all that impressed.

I noticed one other thing today. I clicked on the little + sign next to my Google listing and the spot went from #3 to a #1 spot of 2.7 million sites.

A good a way as any to get top billing I guess.

Well I don't find your site in third spot also not in top 20. I searched in Google."com"

You need to work more on your ad placement.

12,000 searches a month is peanut's not much at all. How old is the site if its under a year and people that have searched this term before will go to sites that they went earlier. Do a comparison on the other sites with alexa and see if those sites are in the same boat as you or do they get more vistors and if they do see what you are missing to get those searches.

The site is there Vinoth. I moved it to the #1 spot with the click of a + icon on the page.

Here is a pic of the google page.

I don't know how the little + ico works but it did move the link from #3 to #1.

This is my 1st time in the high place of Google so I don't really know what is happening.

I'm not kicking. Just wondering where is all the traffic I hear about.

oh taht arrow is just for your customization. It is not really gonna change anything in the listings. Log out of your google account and then do the search. That gives correct search results.

You can try the same keyword in Internet Explorer or Opera. In Internet Explorer you'll see authentic position.

Thanks Jingle. That really takes the wind out of a sail. :(

My site went from #3 to #56. I think I'll stay logged in. :D

However, it did clear up the mystery. Ok, it's back to the drawing board.

Here is my last comment on my COLON CARE site and Google / Yahoo / Bing.

I learned yesterday that if I'm signed in to google or yahoo I get a really good spot in their SEs. I logged out of both Google and Yahoo and then did another search for colon care My first page spots dropped to the 5th page and a #56 slot. Bing on the other hand moved me to a #5 spot on their 1st page. ODD!

I have no idea why being logged in has anything to do with SE positions but it certainly does.

Anyhow, it is something a marketer has to keep in mind when doing the SEO dance.

    Good marketing to all

Being logged in has to do with Search engines because, when you are logged in they track, what you search for, what stuff might interest you to bring up in your search results, also track down stuff nearer your place of search etc.
So, yep it has everything to do with The person Searching.

Thanks Pudge. Yes I did make it. The theme is one you can get on the net for free. I did a -- 3 column medical wp theme -- search in Google and it turned up. I have another one related to BiPolar Disorder. The theme is a bit different but the layout is pretty much the same. Most of the articles are by UAW and I insert a video in a few of them.

I have learned that colon cleansing videos are really gross.

    Thanks again.

Dont feel bad, i thought i was #1 in search results for a little while too...but then i checked on another computer and learned the truth.

Google is of course giving you custom search results with your most visited getting higher returns
