This is my first banner and I made it animated. I know I need to learn more skills with Photoshop but all in all what do you think.

Please feel free to tell me what I should or should not have done.

    Thanks in advance! :D

I think for your first effort you did a good job. I would hold back on the shadow a bit, just leave a little shadow. Also the font that changes moves down slightly with each word. Not a big deal. Good job.

Thanks so much, that's just the kind of help I was looking for! :D

Is there a way to make the animated text line up straight?

sure put it in the same place, lol

use guides or grids in the view tab to help you w/ placement - selecting/deselecting the layers as viewable in your layers pallete could help you line them up better

I agree a little heavy on the shadow effects but overall very well done for a first attempt- good job

It 's ok for a newbie, I think you are overusing the shadow.
Best way to learn cool techniques is to go some commercial photo site and pick up some knowlege from the ground up.
I perssonaly think it is best to use flash cs3 for banner design, it gives you a wide range of possibilities.

Nice try man. You may search for some design tutorials, that'll make your designs more professional.
