Hello fellow optimizers I wanted to get everyones thoughts on how to optimize for the new Bing? Are we still going to play the cat and mouse game, or are they going to lay down some ground rules on some specifics that their spyders are going to look for? Let me know what you think..thanks and see you on the first page
In fact everyone is researching on it, I have found this article to be quite impressive among others http://lawfirmandattorney-internet-marketing.com/seo-for-bing/ Bing is still a mystery and surely it is capturing the market.
if you have a bing webmaster account you can check the backlinks for your site through this webmaster account, this way you can see how bing "rank" those sites and make yourself a general idea about how those sites are ranked in google and pull out a general impression about how bing "rank theyr site" comparing to Google PageRank hope you got me Peace !
Bing SERP is also following Google Branding Update....so try to make your site brand in there niche..you will rank...
I think basic rules of SEO don't change that much, I don't see why it should be any different for Bing. Of course when you experiment, you can get some nicer results, but generally the rules are to look on your onsite factors and build enough quality related backlinks. No rocket science.
Google could care less about brand. They may have modified their algo to give domain authority and domain trust more weight which may make it "appear" that they care about brand since the inbound and outbound link profiles of brand sites typically make them more authoritative and trusted sites in Google's eyes... But brand itself is irrelevant IMO. Build a site with lots of pages of content. Get lots of deep links to LOTS of different pages on your site (not just the home page). This is what they are looking at to determine domain authority. Link out to lots of trusted sites (and/or sites directly linked to by trusted sites)... Get links from lots of trusted sites (and/or sites directly linked to by trusted sites)... And avoid linking to sites that are several hops removed from trusted sites... This is how to build domain trust. SEOmoz had a great Whiteboard Friday video on domain trust and domain authority a while back. A must see if you want to understand trust and authority.... and the difference in the two.
Why exactly would they reveal the inner workings on how the search engine works? So we all can game it? I know that I want my site to be on the first page, but can you imagine if everyone on Digitalpoint who was on the first page for the term they were targeting how spammy and crappy those results would be?
