Hi. I got a problem with my site. I want to redirect the http://www.floridafansite.com/default.asp to the http://www.floridafansite.com even they are the same page they are different urls. The one has PR 3 and the .asp got PR 2. Every you open my site then you click the home tags it goes different. Can you please tell me how I am going to do? So that i can redirect because I want to remove default.asp. If you have a code, can you please show me. Thanks.
ehh, you need to deal with IIS. The short answer is don't write stuff server side with winpoop but I know that is not all that helpful, sorry. This may help though, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324064 see the snip about redirecting urls. hope that helps, Nigel
My question is why do you want to re-direct? Second questions is why do you host in windows based server? Most of the people will not use this. Just wondering.
He wants to redirect so he can fix a canonical URI issue. As for using Windows, Linux isn't the ONLY operating system capable of being used as a Web server, and is irrelevant to this discussion anyway.
if don't have any backlinks pointing to this URL http://www.floridafansite.com/default.asp and google only indexed this page as beeing one page of your site not like a new version of your main site, in this scenario i would simply remove the /*.asp version. Best wishes Peace !
Thanks mates for your suggestion. I use that windows version so that it will unique for the visitors. Lipan i want to redirect it so that i will became more unique. When you open the url then you go back in the home page it will desame.
