Troubles with Bluehost :( What is your webhost?

Hi guys. :( I've been using Bluehost for a week and a half now.. and in that time it feels like my website has been down like 6 hours.. it's down right now.. Is this normal? Does anyone else use bluehost and have problems with them being down a lot? I guess I shouldn't complain about it being down this much but.. it's just bothering me when I'm really wanting to work on my site and it's down. I go to the site and it's a blank page.

So what webhosts are you guys using? Is your site ever down? Are you really happy with your webhost?

Another thing.. I just switched to wordpress lately.. it seems hard for me to get a contact form plugin to work.. either I can't even get it to show up in a page.. or when i get it setup and configure it and everything and i try to test it.. It won't send an email.. the form won't send emails.. hm..

Anyone have a good contact form plugin for wordpress or can help me get cforms or something to work? Thanks.

You can consider Lunarpages or hostgator for shared hosting .

I am a month now at bluehost, transfered away from dreamhost and no problems at all, so maybe it's your server.
Did you contact them about it?

    no host is perfect.

sites/servers do go down once in a while.

if it happens too often....every 2-3 days, you should think of changing hosts.

are you sure it is the server-side problem and not an issue with your ISP?

I use micfo.com and am very happy with them; especially with their support.

hostgator's servers are pretty good too.

I have been using bluehost for about 6 months, and I see what you are saying. My site seems to be down a couple of hours every 3 weeks. I think I will be switching hosts after my years runs out.

That's just a server restart. I've no problems with it, it's better then 2 hours down everyday @ dreamhost.

I have tried many hosts, bluehost included, and to be honest they really suck! the support of BH is even worse.
I finally found the most reliable and best support for the least price at Webhostgiant, I was so happy with the shared service that when I wanted a VPS, I got it form their sister compnay
    Their support is superb

I keep on bluehost almost 100 websites now and all works great. I have almost 10.000.000 PV a month. I will buy higher plan for $20/month (90 processes at once) and move more websites from my other hosting.
Wordpress is totally crap, it can generate 100 mysql queries per 1 PV.

Generally bluehost is great if you optimize your scripts.

if bluehost can't work for you, then you should try hostgator or justhost.
from my experience using bluehost, its ok, as long you keep your website scripts optimised and not too much traffic at one time. Bluehost support is highly reachable, there is live chat option. good luck.

I think you just cant decide a host by hosting with them for a short time. After all everybody is human. Network, server hardware etc etc problem may occur sometimes. But what you should see is the long time performance and the response to any issue.
I had a friend who used to host with neocpanel. Then i was not providing offshore plans. And neocpanel was fine but they ran away. So you see you should see long time performance.
