Credit Card will stop working from AUGUST 1 ?????

mate my HDFC Plantinum Credit Card is not working....shit HDFC...

but @ same time..ICICI Gold Credit card is still working.after 1st august 2009..thats good

But did you try it online or offline ??

For Online,it will always take to netsafe, even if you choose Credit cards.

For offline, you may face problem, until and unless you are registered..

I havent registered my credit card also.

 

HDFC CREDIT CARDS WONT BE AVAILABLE FOR ONLINE USE ANY MORE... I called their customer care they said you need to use... Virtual NEtsafe credit card from 1st august.. now for buying from ebay.com will take 2-5 days for just single payment...

 

May be you can use PayPal. HDFC card works in PayPal. Today only I made transaction using HDFC card in PayPal.

But it's really sad that we can't make any transaction in foreign currency using credit cards directly due to new VBV rule. It seems like the people in RBI have never used credit cards before. They don't know how much trouble this rule will give to the regular credit card users.

My payment from Adwords rejected today. Don't know what to do. Even PayPal or Virtual Credit card doesn't work with Adwords. Only option in adwords is to migrate to PrePay payment but in that also adwords take 4-5 hours to deposit money and if some thing goes wrong then forget your money. You'll get refund after one month.

You will have to to register secure password for HDFC credit/debit cards here: http://www.hdfcbank.com/common/onlineservices/netsafedemo.htm.

Without the secure password all the online transactions will be declined. Thats what i heard. This RBI new notification shouldnt be mandatary. This isnt good because it will create more confusion to credit card users.

I tried to verify my card via visa.com it didn't go through.. I guess vbv isn't the one that RBI is urging for..

 

ok, i just registered and got new secure code for hdfc card. i tried shopping for a small amount and i was asked for password. Worked fine for me and the card worked.

 

I also heard from my friend that HDFC netsafe will no longer work, not sure is it true or not

 

Yes, it worked. I made transaction in Euro. My card was already registered for netsafe @ https://netsafe.hdfcbank.com/ACSWeb/enrolljsp/HDFCValidate.jsp?try=1 .

Try the transaction after registering. It's actually strange. PayPal doesn't ask for VBV pin. I don't know how exactly PayPal works with VBV cards.

 

I don't think there will be any problem with netsafe. Previously I have made purchases with netsafe on a VBV site and the verification process just required a log-in. Sorry, can't remember in detail.
Don't know how its now. Got to give it a try.

You need the secure code.. Lets call our personal bankers and get this issue solved lol..

 

netsafe card has stopped working in adwords. my payment got rejected. I guess government technicians are really dumb-ass people who don't understand the practical situation. They just do things in a hurry without visualising the consequences!
Its a shame that although there are great brains in India, still the stupidiest people run administration.
I am really stuck up. Now I cannot even buy a new domain from godaddy using netsafe card ;-(
If anybody has got success in using netsafe card for payments outside india, then plz update it in this thread

 

NetSafe card works fine. Only in Google it's not working. I regularly use netSafe card in Yahoo! Even after Aug 1st, I made transaction in Yahoo! using netSafe card. It worked.

I think it's Google who is rejecting each and every card in India.

NetSafe should work fine with Godaddy. And you can even always use PayPal. What you need to do is just register your credit card for VBV then open account in PayPal and made transaction using PayPal. It should work.
