Ok - I'm not even talking about Hezbollah - so before you start trying to pretend like I am , get off your misguided high horse. Oh yes ALLLLL this started a mere stones throw ago when Hezbollah kidnapped some people, ya - that's it. There's no other history behind this. Nothing to see here ! What's the matter, can't deal with the fact that the BBC may have some relevant info ? Getting all bent out of shape cause a news source may want to get both sides of the story instead of just sucking up whatever israel says reality is ? One second you're trying to make the BBC seem anti-Israel then why I point out that it's a news companies job to get BOTH SIDES of the story you fly off the handle and start preaching to me like I just said I'm best friends with Hezbollah or something. Yes, never mind all the horrible things Israel has done - AN ACTUAL STATE. News flash sports fans - NO ONE is shocked that terrorist groups do terrorist type things. It's when states do stupid stuff, and continue to do stupid stuff that people start to wonder what the deal is. The fact of the matter is the american news media is so in love with israel 95% of america has no idea what is going on. All they ever hear is "israel = good" and "everyone else = bad mean people who know nothing other than how to hate". Then when americans here a little of the truth, that maybe israels actions aren't all bubble gum and soda pop they lose their cool and start accusing people of being in love with terrorist. So let me set the record straight again. Hezbollah = idiots. Israel = likes to act like idiots from time to time.
Sorry, but most modern liberals (with their current idealogy) would have never won world war 2, if they were the leadership. They're PC antics would leave them worrying about every single civilian and the enemy would have taken advantage of their weakness. It's ironic that FDR, whom is the symbol of progressiveness in social policy is an emblem in conservative foreign policy. This man reduced social welfare to nearly nothing to win the war...truely the leader we needed at the time, despite my disagreements with his domestic policy.
War crimes are committed in every(well I don't know any without them) war by both sides. End of story.
With all due respect WWII should have never even happened. We knew what Hitler was doing - we did nothing. We knew Japan was up to no good - we did nothing. We knew Japan was planning an attack - we did nothing (except move some important ships out of the dock). We had cracked their code for some time, we were reading every message they sent. It really is a horrible story. But if you look past what A&E might want you to believe there is a whole different story out there that history has to tell. And that story is : Americans didnt want war, so the government let war come to America.
Right, you just want to show Israel is doing *something* wrong. Hezbollah doesn't matter. I think you've more than made that point clear now. You're doing a very poor job of masking your intentions
I must have missed an entire block of history that says we took Hitler out, we took Japan out, and today, Japan and Europe are free. Blame America first! At least you picked an appropriate moniker
The exact reason why the whole idea of war crimes is idealogy not practicality. The US couldn't have won world war 2 on the Japanese front or German front with an overly pc mentality of today. Todays overly pc bs is desire to live in a fantasy world. The idea of war crimes is a loser position ie you get charged it when you lose. Generally wholesale killing of civialians should be shunned from military action, and enforced; but people have to live in fantasy world to think it's possible to fight and win a war without civilians dying....unless you got international force that would supply humantarian aid to both evacuating civilians and box in the enemy, you're going to have civilians death. Obviously the UN would be perfect if it actually did something similiar to this, but they're too corrupt and anti-jew to go along with anything like this.
I side with the facts. Do you have much trouble pretending you're informed? If you bothered to read a bit of history beyond what the TV and mass media feeds you you'd be singing a different tune. Anything I say here is based upon countless hours of research from .gov and .edu web sites. All the information is out there, ignore it at your own peril When I say 'we did nothing' I mean, as it should have been obvious - that we did nothing to prevent the situations from getting out of control as they did.
No war should ever happen.... *shrug* What does that mean? World war 2 was going to happen the moment hitler got power...there was no stopping that. I think America was wrong to enter the first war, but not the second. That's because FDR's constituents were isolationists, and he had to literally fuck with the Japanese to start a conflict. Atleast that's how I percieve it. It's the only way he could justify it with the ever-growing progressive mentality of stupidity. FDR was a practical man, whom knew he couldn't win a war if he wasn't voted in by his constituents....so he did what every president has ever done...act aggresively to the enemy, and get them to look like a bad guy, so he could win over any isolationist asshole,.... to finish off the two current morons of the time (ie the nazi and japanese).
My bad, I didn't even see the "blame America first" overtones there! Damned if you do, damned if you don't! Thanks for reclarifying, again
Thanks... I just don't understand how you would fight a war... Do you literally think that Israel is wrong because it accidentally kill individual civialians? I can see an arguement of intential killing and I do think Israel has been suspious in it's past behaviour. Although when it comes down to it, I find it sad that people keep peering their heads in and stopping Israel from getting rid of terrorist organizations. Any organization--whether it's a state or terrorist organization can be destroyed, but it requires a multi-level of support from allies, banks, and even nations that supposedly don't want the terrorist there period. The UN could have dealt with this problem years ago, but all they do is feed BS out about what they need for other BS no-one needs. 1)You evacuate half of lebanon, and you get a UN task force to supply food and shelter for these people. 2)You block off all exit or entrance to known terrorist strongholds via an international force. Then you allow an international force to come-in and destroy all terrorist assets. 3)Then you get all banks via UN mandates and international agreements to audit and finacially prohibit the financing of terrorism. This should be a mandate to even be in the UN. The above respects individual civilians, but at the same time tells you I'm sick of the PC bs the UN and their likes speak of....they don't want a lasting peace. Their idealogy is an endless war.
I would fight a war to win while at the same time minimizing innocent deaths. Innocent people dying, especially in Israels situation is HUGE PR problem. They should literally be trying to not kill any innocent people since every time they do the enemy uses it to enrage thousands of people. But this isn't what Israel does - they like to do rocket attacks in market squares, destroy whole city blocks of apartment buildings. They are going about this the wrong way entirely IMHO. This is doing nothing to win the hearts and minds of the people they want on their side. Instead everytime Israel goes willy nilly and decides to do XYZ they create 10 new terrorist - exactly what they don't want to do. If I had been running Israels military operation for the past X # of years I would have employeed A LOT more snipers who work with top notch intel. Let these people know there will be no glorious death, you'll die getting water from a well long before you ever get to launch your attacks. This sends a damning message to the enemy and most importantly it removes the ego factor. No longer will you die as a `hero`, now you'll die in shame before you ever even got to act. Here is my 3 step plan : 1. Infiltrate / ease drop on the enemy. 2. Discover the players. 3. Snipe them from a distance. Safe, cheap, effective - minimal innocent deaths. Worst case you kill a couple of the wrong people. Israel does that much with *one* rocket attack. (1) Accidents happen - I have no problem with this. I like your 3 step program, it makes a lot of sense. Amazing enough I've never heard any of the talking heads on TV make these points. Nor have I ever heard any political leaders call for this type of action. I find this amazing since people pretend there is simply no solution(s) to the middle east "problem". As good as your 3 step plan sounds I don't think it will occur anytime soon. I think the biggest problem is too many egos are involved. Too many toes have been stepped on and now everyone wants to prove what a big man they are. This poses a huge problem for any type of peace. More than likely 'real peace' in the middle east will only occur after a few generations die off and some new ideas, new ways of thinking can come to the forefront.
I don't doubt there's a PR issue that comes out of this. I believe many people will hate Jews in that region, no matter what they do. It's a rough balance of values, to say the least. Well, personally I think they need an organization outside of Israel...preferable the best of nation in the UN to work together in a manner that's planned-out in a way that it would work for any region and most circumstances. I think we need a UN that will actual enforce common senseable values. Although I must note, you're view on rocket attacks is rather limited by the actual intelligience you have on hezabollah and the circumstance surrounding those strikes. Military action is hard to justify in general, muchless it would be extremely hard to continually justify each and every action. Personally, while I might assume there's unnessary action happening, I would not assert such unless I had the actual information available...then again, I'm not a military official, and what do I know!? Sounds nice, but these organization are huge and complex. A sniper would take centuries to do the job. It would be a good factor involved...for leadership targetting only. The proxy war vs the proxy war?.....lol I'm sure Israel has been doing the hitman bit for a while. It can only do so much.... I don't get my ideas from the news...I develop them from discussions and internal debate. The media is just chock full of bias...one extreme side and the next (which isn't bad if you actually debate all views)...or they just give the opinions of the given parties, which are ususally shitty. I have feelings that the military complex throughout the world, and organization that feed off misery and are invested in the status quo (e.g the UN). That's no assertion, that's just a feeling. Note: I'm not anti-military, but I truely don't trust anyone with non-competitive powers...everyone must have limits (whether competitively or politically). I believe there's too many nations with leaders that are anti-jew, and thus they really don't care to do anything but deface Israel; and there's people that are isolated in their perspective and have no actual plan;...or they're invested in keeping the war and violence going. IMO...I truely believe something similiar to my thoughts would bring a relative amount of stability to that region. Nothing will prevent cells from doing stupid shit..... Culture and ideas evolve through time...I agree.
What are you talking about? Ask any of the 1 million lebanese refugees if they've been terrorised by Israel. Ask any of the surviving families who've been bombed by Israel if they feel terrorised. When you can't go to sleep at night knowing you'll wake up because another countries goverment might blow you and your family up, you are terrorised. According to the definition of the word, israel commits terrorism. As for the other quote about palestinians land and homes being stolen, I've already sourced plenty of reliable links, there's no denying it. So what exactly is hard to embrace? The Truth?
I've seen some good comments, and some stupid comments. Israel has obviously committed no crimes, Hezbollah obviously has. Its fact, you can't change fact. Some idiots do attempt it though.
It's obvious that you have no clue what you're talking about. When did the murder of unarmed children and women in their sleep not become a crime?
