I had to share a small bathroom with 60 guys. That was not fun in the hot afternoons.

While I was working in a local call centre we had a real bastard of a boss named George. Nasty little prick - snorted coke all day and looked like a rat. He once took a can of Coke from my desk, threw it in the bin and told me off for drinking in the office. Understandably pissed off I wandered over to his desk, picked up his wallet and took out a pound coin. He went absolutely mental at me, so I told him that if he ever took something of mine again I'd take 5 times its value from his wallet.

No respect, these people. No respect at all.

    loll madness.

Here the call centre I worked in, yes the one I got fired from, was fully kitted out with CCTV inside and outside. So this bloke goes into the bushes beside the smoking area outside and kinda hides. Now because we were such a high profile company the security was better than the local police. Anyway, it ended up they went into the bushes to see what was going on and found him yanking his plank and talking to his girl on the phone....he was fired the next day and no it wasnt me, honest :(

Damn right. I'm still in touch with a lot of people from the company, and every day I thank my lucky stars that I no longer have to deal with the scum you get managing those places.

I wouldn't know, TatiAnA, as I'm British. I'd probably guess that all call centre managers everywhere are rude, nasty little creatures. The industry seems to attract them :)

In my experience most Americans are polite and friendly, though, for what it's worth.

Most americans... unless from Utah... have been rude to me and asked rediculous questions about different places... they know nothing of other countries or places outside of the United States... it is quite "mentally challenged" of them

While it can be true that Americans are often a little short on knowledge of foreign nations, I think it's simply a by-product of living in such a large country. After all, the US is essentially 50 small countries squeezed together on a continent. Besides, before throwing stones you have to ask yourself: how much do I really know about Kentucky?

IMO jobs gets ugly not because of what you do, but because of the pay :p

i mean if you have a decent job but your salary is low, then it will make you think that your job stinks because you're not compensated well :p

without a doubt, the summer I spent pruning Christmas trees. I felt like a slave working in the cotton fields. It was 104 and my ears took a crispy beating...on the plus side, the sandwiches for lunch were quite excellent.

Working at a dry cleaners... the job itself wasn't bad, per se... but I got almost deathly ill working there. I was a hacking, fatigued, aching, bloody mess. I looked like a walking zombie, truth be told. My parents thought I was going to die. Turns out I had an allergy to the chemicals. Fun stuff.
