Well it seems if anyone has anything negative to say about Israel people jump all over them like they just said Jesus use to rob people for money. Israel does a lot of things wrong, this makes a lot of people mad - those people in turn attack Israel. So they could start by not doing things to make people mad. Like oh say, I don't know - give the Palestinains back all of the tax money they illegally seized ? Something to the tune of about $50 million a month ? This in turn made it so the Palestinains can't have stuff like oh let's say - hospitals? local government facilities? Israel has a laundry list of stuff it's done wrong. One of which was building that really expensive wall that the UN (and a lot of other people) didn't like. I mean - do we want to turn this into a thread about everything Israel has done wrong in the past 5 yrs ? Because I have a job interview in 4 hrs so I don't think I have the time LOL. please take note : just because I say Israel does stuff wrong DOES NOT MEAN I "support" the terrorist. So save that line of "thinking" for someone else.
Who says you are suppporting the terrorists? I'm certainly not, but if you feel guilty about something; that is certainly your perogative. Well Dammit, man! Why didn't Israel think about this. Holy Moley. An international peacekeeping breakthrough. Why doesn't the PLO give back the estimated $2 billion it took from the palestinians. So they can build stuff like oh let's say, hospitals, schools, government facilities. $50 million or $2 billion...hmmm..which would make the pal's happier.
Don't play your victim card so early. Read the first post, then see where you tried to exclusively take it. Went from war crimes to "boo hoo, I just want to show how sthensthitive I am by showing Israel is doing *something* wrong." Just another "I'm trying to sit on the fence, but only attacking Israel" poster. As if people can't spot them a mile away? If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. What are you falling for today?
I think both sides stink - but lets be honest, if it were any other country then everyone would have been down on them like a ton of bricks and undoubtedly war crime charges would have been brought. Israel DOES have the right to defend itself but it should be within the confines of international law and I think right now it has entered the grey area. Its quite noticeable that "winners" never have war crimes charges brought upon them.
Ok, are we going to talk about Israel or the PLO ? You chose - then we'll talk. Cause I could have swore we were just talking about what Israel - as a sovereign nation does wrong. Not what the PLO as a terrorist organization does wrong. They're a terrorist organization - no on is shocked that they do stuff wrong. Israel is a proper state - they are suppose to act like one. If the USA started stealing $50 million a month from Mexico in taxes people would lose their minds. Israel does it to the Palestinians and all of a sudden you want to talk about the PLO. What gives? Someone in page one accused me of supporting the terrorist. It's a common tactic of people with small brains to claim you support the terrorist if : a) you don't like bush b) you say anything bad about israel
Oh please - your witty little catch phrases aren't changing any hearts and minds. Perhaps such things work on your friends, neighbors and other members of DP but such quotes don't move me one iota. The thread is about the question of if Israel commited war crimes. I answered that question and gave my opinion - per my first post. The person who responded to me says , "Israel has done nothing wrong" as if the state of Israel all of a sudden is the baby jesus and is incapable of doing wrong. After I responded to this person I get accused of supporting the terrorist. It's all there on page one. Go have a read.
The seen all too many times tactic... when called out for wrong doing just name someone else worse than yourself ... so lorien has to resort to comparing Israel to the PLO... Another of the seen all too many times tactics. Support Israel or you support terrorists... such weak and simple minded people we're surrounded by.
I try to follow a real simple rule: If you are ashamed of, or do not want people to think you support terrorists, then don't support them. yo-yo has already made his position clear: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=1064485&postcount=4 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=1065121&postcount=12 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=1065483&postcount=27
I don't support terrorist. And you or anyone else should really not pretend that I do. That is of course unless you're really into pretending things then by all means, continue. And for the record - when I got accused of `supporting terrorist` everything I had said was 100% absolutely true. So if truth = supporting terrorist then my my my , what a strange world we live in.
Depending on the context the first link may be true. The second link is most likely true. The BBC has an amazing section on the middle east conflict. You can find that here. That is unless of course you're against learning things - or the BBC is too `liberal` or too `anti-israel`. Whats the main difference between terrorism and war ? War is waged by people in uniforms (read : "the good guys") , terrorism is waged by poor people without uniforms (read: "the bad guys"). War is waged with 10 ton bombs, hellfire missiles, a-10 warthogs, surface to surface missiles. Terrorism is waged with small arms, improvised devices and small scale explosives. In war innocent deaths are called "collateral damage" and everyone is "real real sorry". In terrorism innocent deaths are called "acts of atrocity" and everyone is "real real mad". Never mind that war has and will always kill more people than any act of terrorism. These things are mere details.
Soliciting anti-Israel comments to create news? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5213174.stm "may be" "most likely" If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. If you sit on the fence too long, you start to get splinters.
Actually in world war 2 people weren't all that sorry. The overly pc mentality of today is a new thing. I'm a bit in the middle, and I think and overly pc mentalities in conflicts is/are dangerous and naivee; on the other hand, the wholesale killing of civilians shouldn't be an objective. The extreme views of either/or is wrong in my opinion. I happen to think the pc mentality of today would deeply impede the 'good-side' if there was a war similiar to world war 2. That extreme pc view is dangerous to the 'good-sides' survival...was then, is now.
To ; GTech Cherry picking information to create the image of an artificial slant? We'll get to hear all day every day the horrors from the Israeli point of view - my god we have been FOREVER now. Are you shocked that a news source is trying to get both sides of the story ?
Nevermind that hezbollah and hamas both started this war by firing rockets into Israel and kidnapped Israelis across international borders. Nevermind that they hide behind women and children and the UN. Nevermind that hezbollah fires hundreds of rockets per day into Israel, loaded with ball bearings, whose ONLY intention is to kill civilians. Nevermind that neither has abided by international laws in regards to allowing the Red Cross to visit the soldiers they crossed borders to kidnap. Just mere details. Let's make hezbollah victims, ok?
No. I've never seen any such request from readers in Israel, therefore I could not be shocked that they are trying to get both sides. But I am shocked (well, not really), that you would suggest they are trying to get both sides of the story based on that. Your words say one thing, when backed into a corner, but they suggest a different story in casual posting.
If Israel is committing war crimes....then almost every nation in world war 2 commit them as well....if that's the standard. Except France...lol...pussies.
