Don't know if this counts, but anyways : I had an awful experience in high school band. I played piano (still do) and finally got a solo. I practiced and practiced and had it down cold. The moment came for my solo (it began the song) and my hands were shaking so badly that I couldn't play anything! Of course, I had told everyone I knew that I had a solo in this song and had to deal with it for awhile afterwards. This ended my chance in a music career.
I had a similar experience in high school. I played saxophone in the concert band and always played as a 2nd. Finally my big break, I got my solo and practiced like a crazy person. Opening night my reed split just as the show started and so I had to use a new reed. My solo came up and the reed still wasn't broken in and my solo sounded like a screaming cat going through a band saw. Pretty embarrassing. But yes I used to also perform in musicals when I was young. From memory I was in about 7 different productions. As well as this I have also been a guest speaker twice on IT related topics. I think the public speaking was more nerve racking than the musicals or the band solo.
I performed on bollywood song "just chil chil" when i had studied in 12th std. and everybody laughed on me
I have though with a group of classmates. We entered a dance contest on our school, it was fun though we didn't won...got 2nd place instead but it was really fun

Well, I played the leading role in a play at those university times. It was all by accident and that experience added to my self confident while facing a crowd.
