Buy a mobile from USA and use in India !!!

    One of my friend is coming to India, I want to get a mobile from USA
    (Coz its cheap there) But don't know which mobiles work here in India..

    What type of mobile will work here, after unlocking or whatever..

    Help me, so that my mobile don't become a toy after bringing to India :D:D

    Find a GSM quad band phone (AT&T advertises them as "world phones") and call the provider to get it unlocked for free. ;)

    My be Blackberry then. If I am not mistaken you do get unlocked phones directly too.If not you can get any Nokia of your choice including n95 or n97 cos they can be unlocked without much pain.

    Yes, you are right..
    Can you exactly tell me, what frequency will work in india. Only
    GSM quad band, or any others too work here.
