I want to submit my site to business.com. Who can tell - is it worth it? Will I get benefits from this registration. I'm interested in opinions of experienced people.
I can say that it is not necessary, because this directory does not give the expected result. If you expect this directory of traffic, there are many niche it's not there, or debris.
I'd say just from reading your post, probably not for you. It's a serious directory aimed at businesses that wouldn't think twice about submitting as it would be a small percentage of their promotional budget. If you're running a successful and profitable business and have the money then yes it will be a good investment.
agree with syted, if you have the money it certainly does not hurt. if not, don't worry about it there are many other ways to build solid links.
What benefits do you expect? If your budget allows then give it a try, it won’t do you any harm. Thanks Brian
There are very few, if any, good free directories. I wouldn't waste my time with directories except to have a new site submitted to 1000 directories just to get the links flowing. You can probably buy such a service for $15 in the Buy/Sell category. You'll waste more than $15 worth of time manually submitting the site yourself.
It's not that you just submit your site to business.com or yahoo directory and sit back. You have to constantly update and promote your site if you want to stay in the business forever.
Agreed. I don't know of anyone who has ever gone to business.com to look for information. In my opinion, it'll help with page rank and serps, but don't expect to get much traffic from the site.
I had a listing there and got little to no traffic it was on a PR5 page but there were so many links on it I dunno how much of the PR transferred to my site anyway It's a lot of money to spend and I think it would be better spent submitting to a lot of smaller directories
We listed in there a while back and got no traffic whatsoever. Better than BOTW though who rewarded our custom by burying us deep in their directory where nobody would look! At least business.com replied to my emails. Total waste of money the both of them though IMO.
I represent a site specialized in IT services. From registration on the Business.com I expect to receive interested in my services customers. PR and other parameters are not interesting for me.. - It is necessary to get a target audience that may become a client of my business.
And where did you find this service for $15. As far as I know submitting in such number of really good directories do not usually cheaper than $100.
i dont suggest submitting to 1000 random directories. With the business.com listing your SE ranking can improve and depending on your field you might get a number of cutsomers too. however dont count on a huge list of customers lining up. I would personally suggest Yahoo Directory before Business.com though.
