    CSS is not a big thing just to put style I dont think so it will take a lmuch time to learn it. you just need to be a bit active and you can simply do it. HTML is a lanugage and u need time to learn it. Basically dreamweavers do all for you but its better if you know HTML as its a plus point and u can watch mistakes and edit your coding. I repeat CSS is just for styles nothing else! Try youtube and you will get to know both in few days!

    Exactly how I started too.

    No books whatsoever, just look through other code and play around with it long enough until you kinda know what your doing, then it just progresses from there, every few months you'll notice the improvements your making.

    Get Wordpress installed and upload a variety of themes to tinker with, it doesn't matter if you nonce everything up as you can just move on to the next theme and try something different.

    Themes from Brian Gardner are a good starting point to learn more about html/css/php etc...

    I did something similar. I studied other people's code and messed around with different things until it did what I wanted (and I understood what each command did). From there, I started doing my own with trial and errors.

    I tried looking at websites, but ended up using them more to figure out syntax than anything else.

    w3schools is the best resource for syntax imo, if you really want to learn how, then flip through forums and see some real xhtml/css code samples. :p

    The above is a good resource but what I found worked best for me is to download some free HTML/CSS templates and just play around with them in dreamweaver

    This is a great guide. I have only minimal experience with HTML but I'm looking to build a website. These tutorials seem to be a great starting point, but I'm sure that once I get the hang of these concepts I will need to do a lot more reading to create a full-blown, good looking site.
