Am I doomed? For about 1.5 days I had google and yahoo showing up on one of my game pages, because when my guy set up geo-targeting he left out the code for one small section. I just fixed it... Am I automatically doomed? Or am I okay that I fixed it. I would have fixed it yesterday but had to go to a funeral (no big deal, no one I really knew) but am I ok? Or do they instantly know when both ads are running simultanously? I'm sure this happens to alot of people on accident, some times?
Send a quick mail to both of them there are some people running both the ads like christmas.com Dont know the reason though
You really think its a good idea to send them an email? The ads werent on my main page, on one of my inner pages...Should I really email them?
I'd say don't bother it - u are fine. As you said, it was a simple mistake. I was in a similar situation for a long time and no1 contacted me from either side. I was running both ads on some pages simultaneously on a few pages because of programming error on my side. I found out after a month or so and I simply corrected it without blowing any whistles. About the real job, I quit mine coz ypn paid me in a couple of months what i would make over 2 yrs.
I wouldn't worry about it myself, just as long as it was fixed right away... or you would be banned already
Send a quick email to both, if I was you. Don't underestimate their tracking and monitoring systems. If either detects funny business, they may contact you about it, or they may not. You may end up with a terminated account, or 2 terminated accounts. Why leave it up to chance? On the other hand, if you send them an email, you are sending them a clear signal that you aren't trying to game the system. Let them know that it was an accident that you quickly cleaned up. Proactive is always better. Of course, I don't work for either Y! or G, so the above is just IMO.
i would agree with amcy except, i have heard so many people say they "coincidentally" got nailed shortly after talking with yahoo. probuably is coincidental but, dont let them know you exist is my philosophy. jmo
Yep, one of the members was complaining about being booted after he contacted YPN for a simple thing. Apparently, they dug into his account and found something that was overlooked b4.
I understand what u guys are saying... A cop can pull you over for a broken license plate light, and if the officer suspects something else is going on, he/she can search your car for drugs. If drugs are found, big trouble, even though you were stopped because of the broken light. But, the way I see it, I don't have anything to hide. I don't willfully break the rules. And if there was something else amiss with one of my sites, I would want to know about it--sooner rather than later. So if I were in AriGOLD's situation, I would contact the parties involved. Simple as that. As always, IMO.
