Video person on site DIY, who/how/how much?

    You know how those sites with a person right on the background pop. I honestly often pay to them more attention then the banners. So I want one of those on some pages of my site. I checked few places (i-Vo, etc.) and the price is steep ($500-$1000+) for anything custom
    But is there a cheaper way of sticking your own self on the page with something like flash?
    What are options with 'digital people'? (might not work for my crowd, but will help others)
    Anything else on the topic?

    Could you not use a popup that blacks out the background of the screen, and auto plays the video?

    Sounds like a cheaper option.

    I guess you could, but that will not be too welcoming or appealing to the visitors
