Hello Everyone! Recently i have changed hosting of my site and my site dropping down from the google page one to three,is this is the effect of new hosting ,should i buy dedicated ip for this shared hosting, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
Google may have noticed a short period of time while your site was down or they noticed the change in ips. When certain things are changed onsite it is normal to drop in rankings. Often this is temporary, but not always. Switching to a less reliable web host could be bad for rankings, but switching to an equivalent or better web host should not affect long term rankings.
Sometimes switching host can cause your ranking to go down i had it happen to me and then 2 weeks later it shoot back up but went even further, so it must depend.....
Nope, if your site does not go offline for many hours then you should not worry about ranking. I think even if your site goes offline for let say 2 hours then google is not very hard that it will decrease your ranking. Everything is working on "machines" and machines can stop working for sometime and google knows about it.
But it is more than three month as i have sifted to new server ,it was fluctuating up and down on page one from the past 3 month but now my site has gone to google page three,Please guide can dedicated ip help? in achieving higher page rank.
^ Nope, dedicated IP will not help. Me too wanted to buy dedicated IP but after a long discussion on webhostingtalk forum I found that it will not help much. It is basically used for SSL.
What is your site's domain name, which view of the Google index did you previously rank in (Google.com? Google.co.uk? etc.), where was your domain previously hosted (which country), and where is your domain now hosted (which country)? More than likely it's a temporary hiccup as the search engines have noticed a hosting change and will recover in a few days. Effects of Hosting (and TLDs) on Ranking: Which country your site is hosted in "can" effect rankings... Typically though the affects are minor. If you're trying to rank in Google.com then the best configuration for rankings is to have a non-country code TLD (.com, .net, .org, etc.) with the site hosted in the US. If you're trying to rank in a country-specific view of Google's index (like Google.co.uk) then the best configuration for rankings is to have a country-code TLD (like example.co.uk for example) and to have the site hosted in THAT country being targeted (UK for example). Dedicated IPs: Buying a dedicated IP is NOT likely going to fix your current situation unless you just happened to get placed on a shared IP that is currently under penalty at Google. But that is VERY unlikely. However, dedicated IPs are good for more than just SSL. There are occasional cases where using shared IP hosting can lead to your site accidentally being penalized. For example, sometimes someone on the same shared IP might build a big link farm... If Google notices a significant number of domains on the same IP participating in the the link farm they will sometimes penalize the entire IP. So your domain gets penalized as well... a guilt by association kind of penalty. Of course, once you submit a request for reconsideration and they review your particular domain they will lift your penalty. But having a dedicated IP can prevent you from having to deal with the hassle and downturn in traffic during the time your were penalized. If you have a site that you depend on for making money then $2 per month in extra hosting fees to get a dedicated IP is a very small price to pay for the peace of mind.
I often face this kind of problem too, and yes, it's only happened several days. After that, all becomes normal.
