Redirecting Original Domain To New One For SEO Purposes

    Hi everyone,

This problem is stressing me out pretty badly, so hopefully fellow DP'ers can help me out! :D

    Here is the situation:

I recently changed my blog domain from financeadvisorystop.com to iblogplanet.com. I am running WORDPRESS on both of these. I exported the XML (all the posts) from the first domain, and moved it to iblogplanet.com.

I then removed the posts from financeadvisorystop.com in order to avoid duplicate content penalties.

I set up a 301 redirection, but here is the problem.

If someone clicks on financeadvisorystop.com/article1, they are not taken to iblogplanet.com/article1. Instead, they are taken to iblogplanet.com
    I had 5500 backlinks to financeadvisorystop.com.

Is there any way to fix this so that I could still have some of the backlinks to my new site? Or traffic for that matter?

If anyone has a solution, I'd be more than willing to return the favor for you somehow.

    Thanks!

    Have you tried this?

    Redirect 301 / http://www.example.com/

    Code (markup):
