Nope. The general end computer user has already made it very clear that they do not like linux based operating systems. Chrome is based on the linux kernel. It will never catch on.
Google is new in this market and i think Google operating system will pass through many evolution steps.Where as Microsoft has years of experience in Os development.
Really depends what you're looking for in an OS, in terms of power it will be hard for google to get something that can match MS that quickly but watch this space!
it's hard to say but it is there first stab so my expectations aren't high but i am looking forward to checking it out.
I personally really like Google Chrome, but I definitely don't use it for everything...I would have to agree that the speed it great, but a lot of other stuff is lacking
If this isn't vaporware, I expect that it poses strong rivalry to Vista/Windows 7. Google capitalizes on speed and simplicity (as characterized by their browser). That's precisely what users want. Not bloatware that takes 5Gb or more just for the OS
I don't think it can be compared to even Windows XP. Its a OS based on Linux, therefor the feature list will be low.
Chrome OS might compete Win 7 (Vista is dead product). Aside that, Not much info regard Chrome OS, My guess that it will be much ligher and web-based.
