Myalexa rank just jumped from the 3 millions to the low 2 millions, I know this is good but I'm curious. What caused alexa rank changes and is it important to have a good alexa ranking. If so, why?
Well I would says its not that accurate and not totally reliable but a lot of people care when we are buying or selling websites.
Most of the website buyer prefer look at the traffic status and earning status provided by the seller than looking for the alexa ranking.
Yes it useful coz it indicate that your site receive many hits compare to last time. But PR is more important that alexa ranking.
Alexa ranking is based on people that have Alexa tool bar installed and are accessing the website. Not being a very popular tool bar, I don't find this raking to be that relevant.
Yep, that's what i think a lot of people dont understand is that it only counts the hits if you have the alexa bar installed. you can easily download it as a plug in for Firefox.
Alexa ranking is important if you are trying making money from Review sites like SponsoredReviews, ReviewMe,etc. Typically you should aim of getting your Alexa Ranking <100,000 to be effective. Anything above 1,000,000 is regarded as new entrants. So keep up improving your Alexa ranking. Never tried using tools like Alexa Booster, it doesn't really work. Alexa Booster just use your computing resources for their own benefits. They even able to change your homepage for no reason.
Alexa is based on the Alexa toolbar, which few people have. I installed the toolbar and increase my sites rank by 3,000,000 as I visited it so much.
Alexa is solely based on traffic, and the amount of traffic you receive. More simply, the more traffic you get, the higher your Alexa ranking you will get, which in turn's can add value to your site depending on how high you go up in your rankings.
Alexa ranks only matters if you are attempting to sell a website or advertising on a website. It is not terribly reliable and it can be manipulated, but many use it as an indication to see how popular a website is or is not.
It helps determine your traffic and ranks your site with all other sites on the basis of traffic. It matters in website flipping. (website buying/selling) Sometimes some people care for it as they can find out how popular that business site is or how often it is accessed. Some people develop a mindset to perceive sites with higher alexa ranks with more importance.. =/ It doesn't matter much but doesn't hurt to get a good rank either
Alexa lets you analyze the traffic stats over a period of time just similar to Google Analytics. While Alexa displays something like a Traffic Rank, Analytics does not display that.
It is completely useless. Pagerank and content is what matters. Or if you just have a lot of traffic like Facebook or Google...
more useful than people above suggest Onsetad of PR (pretty useless unless search engine is 100% of traffic) it ranks you against other websites, to put you in a perspective or where you are
Sorry, i have to disagree. Alexa ranking is based on people that have Alexa tool bar installed and if the site have high alexa ranking, this only show webmasters love it. Not very accurate.
