Write witty ads, ensure your text matches their keywords in order to get bold lettering, bid enough to get a high enough position. All these factors work together to work well in AdWords
Yes, also will work well on advertising in Yahoo or MSN, but you should be careful in controlling your budget
If you are offering any free demos, whitepapers or basically anything free or that will have some value to the viewer ofthe ad then use it in your copy. The word FREE attracts attention. Always use the sponsored keyword in the title if youcan and make the ad copy highly relevent to this keyword. Also does you campaign have lots of structure. Keywords grouped into closely related themes with tightly related ad copy. This will increase your relevance score and help you get a higher ad position (for a lower max CPC) which in the 1-6 range should provide you with better CTR. Good Luck
Of all the tips and tricks - high relevancy is the key. This not only increases CTR but will almost certainly increase conversion artes as well.
IMO these are the steps: 1. Add {Keyword:} Tag 2. Add as much negative keywords. 3. Split keywords to managable adgroups. 4. Test with two or more Ads & test for CTR perfomance..
To all the memtioned steps, I would add, try to make your text somehow different from other competitive ads if possible. Make them attractive: aggressive, creative or suggestive depending on your audiance. Look at this example: Suppose you are offering cell phones: First ad Title: CelPhoneModel Text: Get a CelPhoneModel now. Second ad (agressive) Title: CelPhoneModel Text:My 500$ CelPhoneModel costs me only 100$ Why not yours? Second ad (suggestive) Title: CelPhoneModel Want a 500$ CelphoneModel for only 100$? See how Third ad (creative) --Sorry but I prefer keep this for myself. So as you can see, the first ad would have the lowest CTR because it has nothing attractive. Be creative! this is the key of any business.
Think about your target market before writing your ad. Talk their language. Think about what they want to hear rather than what you want them to hear.
