OT - that yahoo blog entry is too funny. Google is having a good time ;). Reminds me of that windows help search back in Windows 95. If you search for MAC, it showed a funny help topic.

Yeah, life isn't fair. What's your point? God's 'perfect' standard of justice is at best egocentric and at worst tyrannical. I cannot accept such a being, existant or not, as a model for justice.

I do not believe in god but I do believe in Karma in the sense that bad things will happen to those that do bad things unto others.

I love the idea of karma - but can't believe there is a universal accountant tabulating every move we make...

Christians don't believe God is a "guy in the sky".

I think there are a lot of atheists because they are too wrapped up in the stereotype of God (like the one above) and haven't done some real searching for truth themselves.

    Am I wrong? Prove it.

This pretty much sums up the Christian mentality. If you can't be proven wrong, then you have to be right.

I've not got 100% proof to say "There is no god".

But I do know its "highly unlikely" there is a god. We now have evidence to support this from our evolutionary past, increased knowledge of the cosmos and the flaws in the bible for example adam and eve. Now again theres no 100% proof the chicken came first but sciences leans heavly over to evolution .

I could say there is a tea pot orbiting the sun. Now for all I know there could be one orbiting, but its "highly unlikely" see were i'm coming from?

Niccolo Macciavelli once said that religion was "neccessory within society" for there to be an overall aim, get troops to war in the name of religion etc.. okay so its not word for word but I can look this up its all in the "The Prince"

If you have time read darwins theory - The origin of species. Its a great insight to "the origins of species" - Hence the title.

You belive everything came from nothing (Darwins thoery), I belive that everything came from something (ie: God)

Which sounds more probable? Think about it... Something from nothing or everything from something...

"Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God." Proverbs 2:5

I agree that the case for Intelligent design is still fully viable.

But its "Highly Unlikely" the bible is of any contrast to the truth even if Intelligent Design was the correct thoery.

Everything just does not appear? Think about it...

    Everything must come from something.

Yup right here. Former hard core bible carrying Christian turned atheist, turned agnostic and then back to atheist again.

Nine Inch Nails said it the best, "your god is dead, and no one cares - if there is a hell I`ll see you there"

    LOL

I'm still totally unsure as to why people believe in something there has been absolutely no proof of, ever.

If I told you there was a pink monkey in outer space watching your every move you'd think I was a lunatic.

But if I told you Jesus Christ was sitting in heaven next to his dad (who sent him to earth then had him killed) a lot of people would be `ok` with that.

So you carried your Bible in your hand; it's a shame you did not carry it in your heart.

please post your proof that "Everything just does not appear"? I'm talking scientific not "the bible told me"

Then i'll get on the phone to NASA and you get on to Stanford we'll tell them we have proof of the "creation of the universe"

Actually we better let CNN know as well.

and that is why the people created a god. Because they couldn't figure out where everything came from and "a god made it!" is always an easy answer.
