Sadly, many people actually spend their lives believing this.

Agnostic, I don't deny a superior entity, but I just thinks that it's out of reach for the human mind.

And when I see what's many believers say an do in the name of theirs gods, I'm thinking about becoming atheist...

That's cool. According to your religion I can kill a bunch of children as long as I "accept" christ before I die. If you don't see the humor in that then....... well of course you don't. You have spent your entire life being brainwashed by the church. THAT makes ME sad!

I do also find it... odd... that simply by accepting Christ you can be saved.

Shouldn't more work be involved for eternal salvation?

Seriously, what are most wars based on? Religion

What is most of the worlds hatred based on? Religion

I live in Colorado (headquarters of focus on the family). You should hear the intollerant hatred that those people spew in the name of christianity.

I'm failing to understand why you believe that I've been a Christian my whole life, because no where I said that. For all you know, I could have became a Christian just a couple of months ago. You have no idea about my background. You fail to recognize the definition of Church too. Church is simply a group of believers coming together in one body, it's not a specific place or area that everyone makes it out to be. Church can be anywhere, anytime, through anything.

We could go on like this for days. You aren't going to convert me, and I have no interest in converting you.

No, Man's intolerances for others, and lust for power.

No, Man's intolerances for others, and lust for power.

Read what you posted, does that make sense? Then don't belive them it's once again: Man's intolerances for others, and lust for power

What is more sad is that for this you call him just.

...The wise man proclaims it from the rooftops.

I am an atheist, and one who is quite tired of hearing "you can't explain this, therefore, God did it." The argument is stupid and makes no sense, especially when you consider the literal THOUSANDS of deities that have been worshipped throughout the ages. Since most of them are mutually exclusive, the vast majority of them HAVE to be false. So the argument would be too vague to be useful, even if it worked.

What is more sad is that you call such a being just.

If anyone has actual evidence for God's existence, you can always pm me.

It seems the Christian God has a bigger ego than your average high school football player.

Ever heard the phrase "life isn't fair"? Well, it's true. God isn't always fair either. God has promises and he keeps them (read the Bible for these), but He isn't there to be "fair".

Because they need to keep bringing Him up and questioning whether He's real or not. Obviously there is something that triggers that.

"Believe your beliefs and doubt your doubts."

read the bible, read the bible, read the bible....

Sorry I have more constructive things to do.

And why not read the Koran, read the Baghavad-Gita, read the Dhammapada... and so on ?
