Hi, I have just added something to the free online games section of my site so that my visitors can easily contact me if a game is not working. After doing that I now get the odd email like the following: It seems like it is a kid having fun or something. I anser them in a professional manner and say if you don't like a game on our site then we have plenty more games that you can play, infact some of them are addictive and then I get another message back from them stated above saying that they don't like the entire site. It is as if they get a kick from doing this. The only thing is, I don't mind these emails as I know it is likely to be a kid messing around most likely in front of their friends or something, but what about if they took it further and started messing around trying to ruin my business. Should I worry, or if I get these emails then should I not reply to them and just ignore them and hopefully they will then move onto another site?
Most likely your competitors, or someone you have crossed paths with before. (maybe your friends playing a joke?) I wouldnt bother replying to this emails, unless they are been posted as a feedback on your website. Then you should just delete it and ban their IP's Constructive feedbacks are always good, but retards that email you this kind of rubbish should be just ignored and their email trashed and banned.
If that bothers you; you need to get a thicker skin. If I posted up some random emails I get from my contact forms; you'd be shocked.
I don't have any skin. lol Na, it didn't really bother me that much and I will no longer be replying to emails like that. As it is from the free online games section I had guess that it would be kids messing around. So I will not really both replying to them anymore. Also, since I have had my contact thing up on the games section I have had something like 5 emails like that within about a month. It is not something that I normally get so I was just wondering. Most of my emails are from businesses approaching me for advertising and joint ventures and things, not kids or competitors sending me emails like the above. Anyway, thanks for the advice.
Delete it an move on. The person will only get bored if you ignore them and possibly move onto one of our sites
I will just move on. I don't want to ban their ip just incase they are using a computer that is used by many others. If I start receiving lots of problems with them, then I will go ahead and ban the ip.
I just don't respond. If they start messing around somehow trying to wreck my site, I ban them and find out where they live and what I can do to them. You know, legal stuff not involving bats or anything.
Yeah, if they start messing around with my site then I have my bat ready. lol. Na, I would also look into legal action against them if something did happen with my sites, because at the end of the day they are messing with my income plus they are also messing with the governments income in the form of taxes that I have to pay.
Don't bother about it. Just ignore it. Sometimes, you get compliments which would give you that pat on your back. Sometimes you get constructive criticism which would help you improve your site. But when you get baseless criticism, just brush them off. It does no one any good.
if you have contact forms of any kind, expect that on a monthly/weekly/and in some cases daily basis depending on how popular your site is. just treat it as spam and move on
Just ignore it. Don't bother replying at all, it would just be a waste of time. People like that don't have something good to say, so to avoid stooping down to their level, just ignore it completely.
