Depends on how much targeted traffic it is getting currently, I think you should test the market first through using few affiliate programs before starting your own store.

Have you looked into the legal issues involved in setting up a store yet? If not, do that before building one. You (and your lawyer) will be glad you did.

You said you wanted to build a store, not market an existing one.

Which begs the question, do you already have an online storefront, or are you planning on making one?

Well for starters, there's the business registration (here in Illinois you can go with a sole proprietorship, general or limited partnership, limited liability company, limited liability partnership, C-corp - that's a full blown corporation, or "Inc." - or an S-Corp - what's essentially a simplified corporation). Illinois also requires that forms be filled out for sales tax purposes, plus you'll need an EIN (Employer Taxpayer Identification Number) from the IRS so you can report the business's income to the IRS and IDR (Internal Revenue Service, and the Illinois Department of Revenue). You'll also have to post a DBA (Doing Business As) notice in the newspapers -- thats just off the top of my head.

Thankfully though at that point you can open up a business bank account that's separate from your personal finances (my local bank requires proof of the business existing plus a $100 deposit to open the account), get a separate PayPal account for the business (again, to separate the finances), and for those who sell things online, apply for a merchant account so credit card payments can be accepted online.

look into all the pros and cons and take a step that you won't regret in the future. As you best know the status of you current blog, you will be able to judge the best.

Unfortunately in my case, Illinois makes no distinction - if someone is selling something on a regular basis for the purpose of making a profit, they're a business that needs to be registered and taxed. IDOR doesn't care if it's a B&M or OSF (Online Store Front), they still want "their" money.
