I have made that question too. I think it counts only 1 download. Really, that guy with 310k downloads... he is messing with the system. No way he can get all that from a single trailer. I must watch movies again... I have never heard about District 9 before And why didn't he upload more trailers? If he got 310k from just one file, he could easily get 1 billion just post few more. Unless something new happens with this King of the download, I don't wanna spend more time commenting this story. I think all your downloads will be credited to your account. It is just getting a long time. I use to get hundred of hits after posting a file, but after 1 day most of the people have downloaded it already, so I stop getting downloads. However, my earnings still increasing. I analyzed the stats and found out that I'm getting about 1 cent per hour and the average of download is ~40 per hour. I should get 40 cents, not 1 penny. I just wish they could credit it faster.
This is from their site: We count every first complete download of a file from a premium or free user. If a user is downloading the file a second time, it will not be counted. Sounds like every download is counting even several ones from the same IP: only downloading the same file twice or more does count as one download.
if u disguise ur files with something else even u can get number of downloads ... if the downloads didn`t happen it would not be counted in 310k downloads if it shows 310K downloads, it means they really happened ... btw out of 310k downloads only 170K are counted ones and the remaining are shaved ones .... and it took 13 days for these many downloads .... Storage.to had 170K unique visitors ... lot of fame for new comer .. but they don`t pay him for it .... if i had a site & someone had brought that many visitors i would have really paid him ...
If these 170K or 310K downloads are made by chinese ppl, you will not get the money from that, because storage.to do not pay for downloads from china. But that still doesn't explain why we don't see 310K on both places in stats. btw. He was sharing 3 files, and you show us a screenshot of the downloads counter for only one file (170k). Where are stats for other 2? Maybe the rest of the files made 140K downloads, or at least some amount?

Lolz. People you are still talking about basic problems. What else you dont understand. About IP downloading. You can be credited from 1 IP how many times you want but not on one file. 1 IP can download 1 your file how many times he/she wants but only 1 download will be counted. But that doesnt mean that 1 IP can only make you 1 download per 24 hours. No, If 1 IP decides to download 10 your files. You will be credited for 10 downloads. But If 1 IP decides to download one your file 10 times. You will be credited 1 download. understand now?
Well it doesn't seem to work that way. I made a test-account yesterday: I got 26 downloads on my 5 files. 23 were counted and my balance is 0,04$. All of my downloads were either from US or EU. So only like 4 downloads were credited with money to my balance: thats bullshit cuz I told my cousin and another friend (both in germany) to download each file once: So I should have at least 10 downloads which have to be credited with money to my balance. So my balance should be at least 0,10$ even when all the other downloads where from asian. They seem to cheat you... Anyone experience the same thing?

If the same person come back later with a new IP, it will count a new download. It is what I understand. Having said that, planlos, your test proves my theory. I suppose your cousin and your friend downloaded the files using always the same IP. So, the system only counted 1 download. If in your test they used many different IPs and the earnings dont show that, just wait. I have noticed that a download made now will be credited only few hours later. And to help the people understanding better the stats, the number of downloads shown on the account page is all downloads which will be paid or have been paid already. The number on the files page shows all downloads, no matter if it will be paid or not. For example, downloads from file greater than 90Mb will appear on both pages, but if the file is lesser than 90MB, it will not appear on the account page.
Yeah both downloaded the files always using the same IP and each file was roughly 150 mb. Anyone know a paying hoster which counts each download, except uploading.com and filefactory.com? Uploading.com only allows up to 100 mb files and the downloaders can only download 100 mb every 24 Hours: so uploading.com is very good for smaller files but not for big ones. Filefactory.com is only giving out good money for US traffic. The traffic from other countries get paid much less.
I started using ST yesterday and thought that to test the system out. I pretty much agree with what you observe here. I really think they are paying per IP address since my mirror download is doing much better.
How's crazyupload? Seems pretty new site to me.. When was this site started? It seems they count download from all countries..
