Hello, I can't seem to find the definitive answer about the image above/next-to AdSense debate. Here is what I want to do: http://www.worldgemguide.com/blend.php I think the column header is a problem. If so, what if I bring it down one row? I'd love any suggestions on how to make this work. Thanks, Ty
Remove quickly looks like google has changed policy or something... I got this email few hours ago about disabling my site:
Lukaslo, There are no arrows or symbols in play. I'll just email AdSense support. You've freaked me out now. Ty
Tkroll: Yes try to contact them and tell us the responce... P.S. I am not native english speaker but doesn't the symbol mean like picture ... I mean in this case http://www.worldgemguide.com/usr/220/img/6235.jpg ?
Tkroll, as long as there is a visible border around either your image or the adsense ad itself, then you have nothing to worry about. You currently have a border around your image, so you are fine. I have done the same thing here.
Lukaslo: I read symbol as picture pointing to or directing the eye to the add like an arrow or pointer of some kind. Motivator: Good to hear. I'm more worried about the column heading being considered "text directly above our ads that could be confused with, or attempt to be associated with Google ads." I already sent an email. I'll post the response. Wish me luck! Ty
Further reading from JenSense: http://www.jensense.com/archives/2005/08/images_above_ad.html Man, this question has been asked so many times. I reckon a link to JenSense's post should be made a sticky.
I reckon it should. There are so many posts about this with so many opions. Like I said, I tried to find the definitive post. I've also figured out from replies to the thread that the image is fine since it has a border. I was more worried about the text nearthe image. Ty
I don't know why some many people try so hard to bend the rules. Keep pushing the envelope and one day, you'll end up being banned.
I'd don't know why some people don't speak directly to whom they want to address. Technology is all about pushing things. Enjoy your abacus! Ty
tkroll: Did you get any responce I got this: I've forwarded your question to our team of specialists for further investigation. Still don't know what was wrong with mine site...
Here is the response from Google. Surprising! "As you may know, web pages may not include incentives of any kind for users to click on ads. This includes using deceptive and unnatural means to draw attention to ads. Please be aware that these activities are strictly prohibited to avoid potential inflation of advertiser costs." Here is an image of the page this references: http://www.worldgemguide.com/wgg-blend.png I'm pretty sure the violation is the column header text above the AdSense. It makes it look like the ad with the image is a catalog item. I've made changes and am emailing back. Interesting stuff. Ty
With the previous URL I believe Google doesn't mind, in fact they are actually starting to put images to the left, right, above etc.. of the ads themselves (i.e. Google generates relevant images and positions them next to the ad, this is done without the publisher doing anything). I've seen Google ads like that all over the web.
I'm sure that site doesn't pass, but I'm not a narc. I say good luck to everyone. Just bad luck for me for asking. Haha. Ty
Lukaslo: I've got the same email today. The ads were like this for about 2 months since the site is runing and np so far. Ah well, doesn't matter we must do what we're told to do.
