How is that the best way when it is not guaranteed, most of the organic traffic is notorious for not buying, and, traffic is not all that great to begin with?

Are you even on page one of a search? No? Then how do you know it is the best way?

The most cost efficient way to market your website is with SEO. Read about it here: http://www.highrankingseo.net/services/organic-seo-company/

There are plenty of companies that can help you. If you are ready to do some work, you can get a consult with a company for fairly cheap. It is basically a written success plan for your site, what to do and how to do it. My company for example offers consulting starting at $150 an hour.

    Hope that helps a little.

    Perry Rose,
I am new to IM but my intuition is telling me this is one of the smartest things that have been said here. Search engine organic traffic seems to be temporary and low quality traffic, i.e. they don't buy. So, my question is, if I believe I have nice sites and some money to invest, and I also believe AdWords and Yahoo are overpriced (I'll pay more than I make back in sales), are there networks you can recommend that place PPC ads on those relevant webmaster sites? Which ones should I try and which ones should I stay away from? Thanks!

Traffic generation consists of a lot of different
options but what the Gurus do is they use their
    contacts.
They have huge lists, huge social following and alot
    of JV partners.
It is easier for them to get instant traffic.

If you want to get some traffic in a long run you'll have
to post quality content, get social and start doing some
    serious SEO.

Hey, depending on your budget and your exact product, has a lot to do with the advice I am going to give you. First, I would find a mass emailer (I know a guy who is cheap) and send out a simple newsletter announcing your presence on the net, it can be targeted or non targeted, ecommerce is a ok niche. And the same guy I mentioned before does all of the things I am going to mention. Get market research on your product, find your competitors and beat them. Have articles written about your niche and virally blog them along with your website link. There is a program that can do that for 6000 blog sites and another one that does 1200 sites. And you do this on a weekly basis, and if you find a very reasonable marketer that does this, you will still pay 300-400 a week for this service. SEO does take a while but if you do all of these things in conjunction, you should be able to increase the traffic to your site. But if you employ a marketer that can make use of all of these strategies including a few I havent mentioned (this is what we do for a living, im not going to tell all) you can drive more traffic, pm me if you have any more questions. I do know some of these posts have not been useful to you.

    SEO this, SEO that.

Are any of you idiots even on page one of a search under the most typed-in keywords?

You noobs don't even know what you are talking about.

Stop acting like a talking parrot, repeating stuff you hear from another talking parrot, just so you can be heard in a thread. It just makes you look stupid.

    Mark,

I don't use ad networks because I do it myself. I approach webmasters on my own to see if I can advertise on their site.

I can only give you a list of the most popular networks used by the heavy advertisers who buy traffic.

You just have to go through them, one by one until you find the one you like.

I have heard that some have bad customer service, though. I don't know. But these are just about the top ones.

TextLinkAds, TrafficSwarm, CasaleMedia, Advertising, FastClick, BurstMedia, TribalFusion, Azoogle, GlobalInteractive, AdBrite, Adengage, RealMedia, Kontera, Avnads, ValueClick, RealTechNetwork, Reduxmedia, and, Dotomi.

SEO works but you should focus on long tailed keywords specific to your products/services. SEO is some respects the same as PPC (as far as search engines go) except that you dont have to pay for the clicks.
