Makes me wonder if we are going to have to start designing for a whole new set of browsers.

Google already has a browser :p Chrome! The google OS is just going to be based off the linux kernel, it will be just another flavor of linux essentially.

Yeah, I know they have chrome. But if every browser is suddenly on another popular operating system we might end up having to test for that too. We already have to test for FF and Safari on Windows and Apple's OS's. And we have to test Opera, and IE on Windows alone. Sometimes we have to test FF in Linux too. I don't really want to have to test Safari, FF, Opera, and Chrome on a new operating system. That will mean either restarting into the OS, having a spare computer with the OS on it every time we want to test, or a VM that doesn't run like a sloth.

This operating system is aimed at netbooks and low spec computers Google says, but who's to say future versions will be the same :)

Wow, the idea that it would be based on the Linux kernel is really great! And Google being a big, rich company and a reputation to maintain. This is what Linux just needs, more support! Go GOOGLE! Go Linux! :D
