Henny, heat index is a cool way of saying "wind chill" when it's hot. Either way, I remember it being a hell of a lot hotter in St. Louis back in the late 70's. I think we should re-visit the "how old is this planet" thread. Here's why. Humans have only been monitoring weather for around 100 years. The planet is 6000 years old, or 4.5 billion years old, depending on what state of delusion you follow. So even if the planet is only 6k, 100 years, vs. 6,000 years? Hmmmm... Better yet, 4.5 BILLION years, vs. 100 years? I'm gonna guess that we do not have enough data to accurately judge much of anything as far as weather is concerned. That pretty much ends the Global Warming debate. Someone close the thread.
Examples? Stronger than what? The one in 1900 in Galveston, Texas was stronger than the mild storm that hit NO (what was it called? Katrina or something like that?) 6000 people died in that Galveston storm. Amazingly GWB was not behind that storm. Well it is hurricane season. What did you expect. Compared to the alternative? It was the right decision. I think you know that.
Freedom is never a bad idea. Only a spoiled child who does not appreciate the freedom he has, which was paid for by others, could possibly feel that the current sectarian difficulties in Iraq could possibly justify leaving the people of Iraq enslaved.

I am a Catholic and this is what I read one time in the Bible. It can all be found in Revelations. Its pretty scary stuff if you read it. Revelations describes a WW3 which will come and destroy the world. 1/3 of the populations will die in a 2 or 3 day nuclear war that ends all wars. If I have it correct I believe they say the source comes from the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers (which is in current day Iran). Israel and Russia will get into a nuclear war and it will be a big mess. They say Western Civilization will fall afterwards. Again this is what I have read in books about people who have interuptred Revelations. I honestly hope that this will not happen but not every human being thinks on the same page. If we were all thinking clearly there would be no war and hatred. However this is not the case

So back on topic... Sheik Hassan Nasrallah is offering a cease-fire in Lebanon? Has he considered releasing his Israeli hostages, which will force a cease-fire? Or, is he all talk, just to sucker the fools in the Western media? I'm really not familiar with the details. Has anyone seen them?
