Hey guys, this guy made a site for us and I was just wondering if there is any way I can get some SEO with a flash site? YourPoolMan.com is the site. Would making html subpages on it work? We just really need some online traffic that will turn into work for my Dad I was thinking PPC but I don't know.. Or SEO but I don't know how I would do it if the spiders can't even read it.. IMO Flash sucks from an SEO perspective... always has... always will. Matt Cutts said in the hallways at PubCon 2008 that even though Google and everyone had the specs for reading Adobe's files now, that it would be at least 10 years before Flash even started to rank anywhere near HTML pages with the exact same content... and that even then HTML sites will ALWAYS outrank Flash. Build your site in HTML. I've seen that and 100 other posts similar to it... but I'm telling you if you build the site in Flash and then build the EXACT same site in HTML, the HTML version will outrank the Flash by leaps and bounds EVERY time. These posts are people (web designer SEO wannabees) trying to make the best of a bad situation (building sites in Flash). Go ahead and build it in Flash... then come back here in 6 months and tell us how you're ranking... I can tell you it's going to suck... Unless there is some feature of Flash that your website absolutely needs, you are far better off building it in HTML.
Haha, how can I make it in html? I didn't make it btw.. It's already in flash and we already payed him, is there anyway I can build it in html by myself? I'm a 14 year old btw lol... Not really, we just know this guy, and my Dad hired him..
