Hi DP - I'm new here. I signed up a while ago, but have been away for a bit, so I haven't really had the chance to contribute and learn more about DP and its members. So anyways, hello, I'm Logan. I'm a 14 year-old (almost 15) blogger from Canada. I'm very keen on the subject of business, and I love writing, so about a month ago I started my blog, YouthBusinessBlog.com (I can't post links because I'm too new ). It's all about business as it relates to youth. It's still in the development stage. I come to ask if my site is AdSense ready. My goal is to pay off the $50 of yearly hosting & domain costs. At a month old, it averages about 40 uniques a day, with many repeat visitors (mostly youth between 13 - 19). As you can see on the homepage, I have (at this time of writing) 91 feed subscribers. I have backlinks from reputable blogs (of people the same age), praise by some more experienced bloggers, and at least (usually) 4 or 5 comments on each post. I know that while a blog is in the primary development stage, ads can turn readers away, but I could make at least a little money. But if I introduce ads later, I may be losing possible money and might interrupt my readers who are opposed to them. Can you look at my site, and tell me whether AdSense (or chitika, or other ad/affiliate programs) should be implemented now? Or, you don't even have to look at my site, because all the information is pretty much in this post. On a similar note, I'm getting a new theme soon... so for those concerned with the actual placement of the ads, don't worry. We'll cross that bridge when we get there, right?
Nice website and you seem to be doing very well on feed readers, keep it up with more posts and it will increase Do not fear at all to add adsense ads. Just make sure that you place them properly. You may want to read the following that discuss proper adsense placement and more techniques that will help you make the most out of adsense. http://website-creation-tips.com/index.php/2009/07/20/increase-your-adsense-revenues-by-50-or-more/ http://website-creation-tips.com/in...nt-advices-on-correctly-using-google-adsense/
I liked your blog, its look nice and clean. I see it ready for Adsense. make sure you read the Adsense Policy. Make sure you read all what in this page. https://www.google.com/adsense/support/ thanks
Thanks... I'm assuming that's your website (cause of link in sig). Those articles are spot on. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the heads up. Will do. Thanks!
Great blog but later on you might pay off better with BuySellAds or something.. Chunks of money at a time.
Yeah, I've been looking at affiliate ads, but I don't know of any good programs, nor have I heard many success stories.
Yeah.. U shud go ahead with Adsense.. there's no second doubt abt it.! All the Best mate.. enjoyed ur hard work.
The only thing I'm concerned about is that because I have only 40 visitors/day, it won't be enough to make some money, and it will scare away some visitors. At what point (in unique visitors) is it ideal to start AdSense?
mate thats a great blog, if you work on SEO you can drive a lot more visitors to it and do well. Try submitting your blog to some free blog directories and work on getting some backlinks. Something that might help you is writing articles for Ezine articles or squidoo or hubpages and adding your link at the bottom. also I noticed you have 97 ping subscribers so try writing a few articles a week and make sure you ping your site every time you add content. good luck
I have a plan: Because my goal isn't to make money off my blog (it's my first), I'll keep it ad-free for 6 months or so (and I will tell my readers that). Then I will implement the ads, and see how well it goes. Good Idea? bad idea?
Personally, i think it's a bad idea. If you finally intend to add ads, do it now and be 100% sincere to your readers. It's better to be consistent since people do not really like such changes.
just don't go overboard with ads and you will be fine mate ... blend the colors of your ads so they match you site and just don't go overboard, put them where you can but don't try to force them into places that makes your blog look bad.
Yeah, I know to make the ads look like they're content, and match the colours, and not be so deathly obvious. I should be getting a new theme within the next month or so, should I implement them then, or now?
Just add them man! I'm pretty sure no one will stop reading your blog simply because of adsense ads. Adsense ads aren't annoying at all, in my opinion.
I must say for a 14 Year old, that's a great blog. If your site is getting a decent amount of traffic than I suggest you use Google Adsense. Just don't over do it with the AD's. I've seen websites who started out great, but than FILLED their site with advertisements. They went down the drain. When I visit a site I don't want to be bombarded by ad's.
