HI friends soon am going to live a new website on diamonds. What i need to know do i submit my website to search engines or not? is it really important to submit websites to google or yahoo or is it better let it be crawled automatically by SE bots. And one more thing i need to know about metasearch engines like dogpile.com and webcrawler.com Do i bother metasearch engines? Is there any mode to submit my site to these? Did metaSE's going to help me out. Please suggest me Thanks in Advance

You want to build as many quality backlinks as you can, and yes you want search engines to crawl your site, so submit to them. However, i would not submit your url to search engine until your site is complete or operational. Also submit to free directories and websites like digg.
Thanks buddy but don't u feel let the search engines crawl your website rather than submitting manually. What is more useful? And more i ve heard that if you submitt website to google it puts you in sandbox and will come to ur site after few months.
Just place a link of your site to other trusted blogs/ websites and that's it! Your site will get index in matter of days. Search engine submission is already dead, no one ever does this technique unless it is for small niche search engines.
That is no need to submit your web site to the SE. You need to start over with the directory and article submission. They should be indexed and once the link to your web site will be found on the indexed page you will be added.

Good Question, Your best bet will be Google picking up your url from a good website related to your industry. DogPile, Webcrawler etc will send you a handful of visitors so its a good place to start with.. SUbmit to good directories and get links from related sites.. That will do the trick
Yes, I think you should do this but before doing this you should make 1 - Create Google XML Sitemap and upload on your site 2 - Try to get backlinks from reputed or atleast good sites (this is best way to get quick listed on Google) Hope this help Regards sGuru
I think you should focus more on local search engine because metasearch engine results are not quite relevant.
You have to build SiteMap for your new website by SiteMap it helps search engines to crawl your all links easily. If your website doesn't crawl then you have option to submit on Search Engines manually
