Thanks for the feedback! That was a quick mock-up just to get my toes in this contest so I figured I'd be getting comments on those things. The logo I can definitely improve, I mostly put it there as a nice looking placeholder for if I had more time later to go back and improve it. I have ideas to separate the main content from the sidebar that I think will work well and look great-- I was thinking of having slightly different backgrounds and maybe a subtle border. As for the professionalism, that's great I can remove that and put something more professional in-- like an address and telephone number. I also have a bunch of elements I'd like to add, I have just not had the time today, such as a search field, contact information, purchase information, and some pictures to make the design stand out a bit more (I wanted to add some fancy vine-leaf things). Unfortunately, I'm going out of town tonight and won't be back until tomorrow afternoon-- soon after the contest closes. So I won't be able to show you any changes. If you choose my design, I will make those changes for you when I return and I think you will be very happy with the design. I think the ideas I have in mind can improve the design significantly. I will consider your ideas upon choosing the contest winner. @stardesigns99: You latest design showed some improvements. Comparing your three revisions together, here is what I think: The first one looked the best because of the lighter background. The second one showed some improvements with the new image of the girl with the black hair on the bottom left. It really adds to the design. I also liked the gray sidebar from the second design. In the third one, I liked what you did with the "Welcome" text background. I did not like that same style in the sidebar though. Basically, I liked all your designs for their own little aspects. @xyunaxfantasiesx: Yours is probably my favourite design in this contest. I loved the textured backgrounds you used, I love how clean the design is, and the images you decided to go with. The colors also fit perfectly together and the layout is great. I am trying to come up with some critiques so let me think hard about that. @que_passa: I liked what you did with the logo. It adds some style to the design. Also great work with the search field. You can really see it now. Lastly, I did like the testimonials section, but did not like the little check mark graphic you used. @Erthy: Thank you for submitting an entry! I loved the bright green color you used. It goes well with the design. I liked the image and testimonials. What I didn't like so much which I also mentioned on other people's designs, is that this design appears to be more geared towards somebody's blog. What makes me say this is the rounded search field at the top of the page, the background image you used, and how the page does not have a lot of text. Great design, but it may just not be for what I am trying to do. @paladin884: I liked your design! I loved the flowery things at the top left and right of the page. It adds so much style! I liked your menu and the simple header with just a logo for the product. I also liked the curvy-ness of the header of the page. What I didn't like as much what how strong the brown and the green in the main body of the page were. I felt like they needed to be a bit more saturated. I also felt as the text in the main page content was a little too bold. Lastly, I loved the background color. Did I mention I also loved the little flowery things? Message to everyone: Please do not worry about changing your designs to my specifications (above). I am just waiting for the rest of the entries, then I will make my decision. If I really want the changes done, I will just ask you specifically to make them. No need for everybody to be wasting anymore of their time. Lastly, although I really liked xyunaxfantasiesx's design. He is not the clear winner. I will have to talk to some people and think about what the site is trying to achieve and see what fits in the best. Thanks again everybody for their wonderful entries!
Seriously guys, do not worry about making all the revisions. Seriously. I will not hold you accountable for not making them. @stardesigns99: I sent you comments via PM on your design revision. @paladin884: I love the blue and the orange. They really add some flavor to the design. If anything however. the "Welcome" would need to stand out more with the blue or orange and the green leaves next to "How to use", "Technology", etc. would need to be brightened up a little bit to match the brightness of the blue and orange.
@neilparnham: I like the colors of your design, the vertical menu on the left, and I liked how sales-oriented your website is. @paladin884: I liked the changes you made. I feel the website fits together a lot more and all the colors match each other very well. @stardesigns: Can you do the following changes to the design you sent me via PM: *Eliminate “Welcome†box and use multiple images like http://tinyurl.com/kqmtx4 *Change “Quotes†to “Testimonials†box *Change “Testimonials†page to “Clinical Data†*Can you get rid of the leaves/branches thing? (I personally like it but others I have talked to did not.) Everybody else, I am about to announce the winner. Am just waiting for the last stragglers to post.
Oh im sorry but DP was not opening for a while here. I dint get the time to do the logo. The logo would go inside the hanging wooden frame ( which was my actual idea but dint get the time to finish it off ). I hope u still consider the layout and design.
