Yes, unfortunately, they can do that. Thats the story of most hosters. And yes, it's the same on my side. Without already attracted users, I would be earning almost nothing. The hosters are letting some time to past and they play by the rules they made on the start. Then..after some time they change the rules. hotfile took..how many months? And they chaged the rules. So they are shaving your earnings now by officialy putting you on the lowest possible earning level. Storage.to is too young for that, but then again it's not us who are making desisions. Problem with any hoster (other then rapidshare) is that they think they will become as big as rapidshare overnight. That's why there are too many hosters on the internet offering you to earn money by the number of downloads you made. They all expecting to earn fast money from subscriptions. When they see that there is too big difference compared to what money they need to pay the uploaders and the money they receive from subscriptions, ...they just change the rules and call that a RATIO. So no mater how much downloads you have, if your downloads not bringing new premium users, they will pay you less. Like I am the one who have to force the users to buy premiums?! That's the sad story about hotfile. I really wish that storage.to not become another case.
Well,at least hotfile took a few months to implement the ratio system,but storage?They have just started paying out like what..a few weeks ago??This is ridiculous :/
Yes it is ridiculous. And that's the only reason why I am still hopeing this is just a temporary problem. Strange thing is that 'the problem' is about actual earnings which is the most important thing for both sides (hoster and uploaders).
There's a problem uploading files with FTP. People are complaining about files not being found. No detailed stats such as hotfile,uploading.Hence, these guys can pay how much ever they want. I just feel this host isn't reliable, they need to resolve everything too soon to be in the business.
I'm not sure, but I think it was because of the sign like yours. It was the second Storage thread closed. I hope they don't close this one too, but just in case, you could edit your sign. I see here people who was HotFile's members and I don't understand how you still believe on those sites. Sooner or later they all change something so they don't spend much money paying us. All that we can do is take advantage while the site still paying good. Gazup was hacked and after restoring the system they never put the rewards back online again. But they keep making money from the old files and the new ones. I really would like to see the rewards back, but I don't think they will do it. They said that they would pay today the 2 months of payment they owe the members. Do you think they kept their word? Nobody got paid. HotFile was a joke. They (or should I say he? because it is just a guy), he just closed my account because I was getting too much downloads from premiums. Now it is Storage.to which decided to change something on the counter so we don't make much money. It is not a bug as someone mentioned. It was deliberately made by them. Maybe they put it back as it was, but I don't have much hope. I had a chance to say on that closed thread how my earnings are increasing on Storage right now. I got about 200 downloads and 10 cents. And then I got no new download and they gave me 5 cents. Today I only had 15 downloads, which must be true as I stop uploading new files, and I got 25 cents for that. It just doesn't make any sense. Most of the file hosting out there which have high rewards, normally stop paying after sometime or never pay. Now, it can sound strange after attacking the file hosting. But I have to be fair. I got my payment from Storage. I had to wait almost 1 week, but I got paid. However, I don't know if I will make money there. My earnings are increasing really slow. On the homologous period I got $15, now I got almost $3 with practically the same amount of donwloads. Are they cheating on me or am I just getting donwloads from kazakhstan?!
It must be a kazakhstan. About Gazup, sorry I never heard of it. But all hosters can just delete the earnings and say there were hacked. Every information that you can't check can be used to cover the scam. Why I never lost my rapidshare points for any kind of hack for last 3 years? Yes, storage.to changed something. That's clear. But guys...keep sending them complain letters and see what they will answer. If we keep talking about this only here, they may not even try to think about if it was a good thing to change something. In any case (even if it is not good at all) I am still earning a way much more with storage.to compared to hotfile. Today I earned whole 18 cents, which is 4 cent more then yesterday. ('whoohoo' for hotfile).

Don't get me wrong mate, but until more ppl start complaining about the same issue, I believe we can't trust you. All we have is your word. And how the hell did he already made $400 in such small period of time? If he tried to cheat the system, I wouldn't pay him too. So, until more ppl confirm your story (from there own experience) and give us some proofs for that, you can seat here if you like, and read about our problems with storage.to ...if you want.
wel i do think some people are trying to cheat storage and i think its because of them, ST has reduced earnings and long delay in payment. i got this reply when i asked them abt my payment @dduck, got this reply within 6 hours
george101, If they said that someone tried to cheat the system I can't blame them for delay in payment. But I still don't know how that can cover the story of drop in earnings. btw. You got your answer very fast, considering I am still waiting for them to reply on my message.
Since you are getting answers from them faster then me, would you ask them why the earnings are dropped so much?
Yes, contact him, and put some screens here. But still, even if his account may comfirm what you said, it cannot show if he tried to trick the system. I hope we will see the date of his registration with storage.to. What kind of material he was sharing when he got $400 so fast? If I am the hoster I would sure look into his ways of earnings to be sure he didn't cheated me. $400? Unbelievable! btw. Why don't you bring him here and let him explain the situation by himself?
The earnings, maybe its because of this.. Before, the download counter was a little "bugged". I think that we was getting dls for the downloads which wasnt completed. So for example if someone started to download our uploads and cancelled it. We were credited. And the difference now is that Storage find it out and changed it. And now we are credited only for full downloads. This is my thought.
If they fixed that kind of a bug, then I support them. But I still think that I do achieve a lot downloads but don't earn like before. If we are credited only for full downloads, then the first thing they should fix is that download counter. I don't want to know how many ppl started the download. I only want to know how many of them finish downloading. This way, as it is right now, it only iritate me to see downloads count rising while earnings almost standing at the same amount.
i`ve seen many file hosting websites .... no one (even rapidshare or megaupload) uses that system ... and if that system is implemented, downloads count will fall to half of what it is now .. uploaders will stop using Storage.to .. thats for sure .... file hosting websites care only about the Ads that r displayed on the website & and if the download is started or not ...
