What's the difference between White Hat and Black Hat SEO?

    I am new to SEO. Please me know what's the difference between White Hat and Black Hat SEO and which one is better?

    Generally white-hat = good , black-hat = bad (in what concerns the engines of course). Now, I'm not an expert in the black-hat matter, but I know there are guys that "sneaked" the engines ... not forever of course, but enough to make a good amount of money. Depends what you want to do. If you want something long term always use white-hat methods, if you want some easy and fast money you can go do black-hat, but be make sure you know what you're doing because you're on a dangerous ground.

    White hat---- Google and other SE like well , slowly rank... but reliable and little chance of degration / penalization
    Black hat -- just opposite to above

    There is no such thing as "hats" in SEO. Just people who build and optimize Web sites for their targeted audience, and those who spam the search engines.
