Features after the upgrade are basically the default features you get in vB 3.8.3 so there's not much Shawn can do about it unless he hacks the forum. Which, I think, will make it very messy.....
vB has moved from a forum script to a social networking script with some of the features. Some new features may be useful, but most aint for a webmaster forum. This isn't facebook.
Not for me it isn't, so I'm not sure what you're seeing. EDIT: Oh sure... now that I logged out and back in, I have the change. Glad for it. I'd rather see PMs on every page and the other invites and such just via usercp.
Honestly speaking i think at some point of time DP needed an upgrade, extra features wont harm anyone, if you don't like it you may simply ignore those features, i mean how long can we stay with basic features? upgrades are meant to be for good
I don't know. It's back to the full notifications list again for me now. Must just not be settled yet while Shawn's making the overall changes. Not sure.
Fluffy substance wins over substantial fluff. Agreed. Its just a matter of weeks. People will loose interests in the social groups and will be back to normal.
Weird. When I first posted I saw only the Private Messages notification, it hasn't changed back. It's still the old way for me, though everything else that changed because of the upgrade is still changed.
when DP wasn't upgraded, people were complaining about slow speed, new features and blah blah blah... now its upgraded to latest vb and working smooth and fast.. you guys are still complaining what the.....
without even trying to think about, the Vbulletin upgrade has more good features than down-sides IMO,cause it's a whole crew working out there for this specific matter, if they add or alter something, they definitely know what they're doing... I think Compolar is so used to the old version of DP,I don't know ....it's kinda breaking stability..... However I agree with him at some points ~yoozy
I know exactly what you mean, ive been here since 07 and it was more motivated money making people back then, thats when I used to post much more. This isn't the only forum that is seeing these changes.
Just to throw this in, since there's a character count on sig, it would be nice to have that count displayed if possible.

Don't judge based off post count or join date, I've lurked for a lot longer, and I was here when we were still on vB 3.6 and I know what the differences between vB 3.6 and vB 3.8 are. I was merely saying that I like vB 3.8 more on the whole. vB 3.6 is outdated, and frankly I find it a little odd that you're complaining about more functionality, when there are off buttons for all the things you're complaining about. Visitor Messaging - Can turn off Albums - Don't like it, don't use it. Social Groups - Ignore requests Friends - Ignore
Meaning after a week or so i will have "Your Notifications: 468"? And if it was that easy, i wouldn't complain... The main thing which bothers me is the profile veiw page...
