Good point Magda, but trust me when I tell you there are companies in some countries that really expect you to know S.E.O. beside your design skills, and that it the main reason many clients complain . Instead , a web designer should be assisted by a S.E.O. guy that know basic xhtml / css , and can guide the designer in building a S.E.O. friendly website. A good point also has Jamuna about the PR of a page / site. It's important , but many people focus on that and forget about everything else. I personally saw PR 3 or 4 websites with 10 uniques a day , and on the other hand websites with hundreds with lower PR , and that is because the existence of one doesn't automatically bring the other.
