If I'm buying a domain name for $250 from someone (they have godady, and I have namecheap) what do I do to purchase it?

Is there anyway to make it come to namecheap? and how do I pay the person? do i transfer the funds to namecheap/godady (if i have to make one there) then send the person the money and i receive the domain? or do i pay through paypal, or some other way?

just ask the seller to transfer the domain to your namecheap account.

But he may expect you to accept the transfer fees...

For me, the best way is as follow,

    1. setup a new godaddy ccount.
    2. ask the seller push the domain to you(free)
    3. you can transfer the domain from your godaddy account to your namechaep account at anytime

^ thank you both, but how do I pay him? Do I pay when he's transferring it to me, or do I send him the money another way?

Normally domain sellers expect you to send the money first before they transfer the domains...

Well the person doesn't want Paypal or anything he wants western union, and I don't really want to do that :/

is there anyway to just buy the domain and send him the money when the domain is transferred?

Transfer of money depends on YOU, HIM and TRUST between you. You may agree for advance and final payment or may use some third party service that can help you, but talks between yourselves is beneficial.

He already said this would be a good idea, since he's getting the money and I'm getting the money at the same time.

I thought there was a way to put the domain up for sale, then I just buy it with funds in my account

with that condition, I agree with skylover, register one account on godaddy, and get the domain there, then you could transfer it to your namecheap account

I'm reading escrow right now; so basically I transfer funds into escrow from Paypal or a credit card, then the domain seller will sell it on escrow and I pay escrow, and once escrow receives my money, they will give me the domain?

Setup and account at Godaddy, and use escrow.com for transferring money. Don't transfer with Western Union.

You can also buy it through Sedo if buyer list it there. Then Sedo will open for you account at registrar when domain is, and when you pay, Sedo will send you username and password via email for your new Godaddy account
