I get PR updates on every crawl, but not the toolbar green crap. When your website reaces higher on SERPs you get a PR update. Proove me that i`m wrong :D

Prior to the PR update at the beginning of March '09, Google had been publishing PR updates about once every 3 months. Since March of this year, however, they seem to have increased the frequency of their PR updates. I've noticed since then that updates are coming much more often - frequently 2-4 wks after that last one.

Who knows why... Perhaps they figured out a better way to do it which allows them to do it more often. Perhaps they got tired of dealing with unnecessary reconsideration requests and the constant questions on their forums because most webmasters don't understand that toolbar PR is a snapshot of the PAST PR for a site, never your current PR.

Regardless, it probably cut down on them having to deal w/ a lot of crap as webmasters can more frequently get an idea of whether their attempts to raise their worthless PR are working.

Now if they could come up with a way to communicate to webmasters how very little PR has to do with how their pages rank in the SERPs.

Google always was running Pagerank algorithm everyday, thats how they generate SERPs etc. Do you think they will crawl the sites only for SERPs, doesn't it make sense for them to run their pagerank along with the crawling, that way they can give most updated results.

Yes they run it every single day. Their policy is to show Pagerank to us that is old and that will never change.

I KNOW they are CONSTANTLY updating the "real" page of every page. But that was NOT the OPs question. The OP wasn't talking about the "real" PR... He's talking about the Google Toolbar PR... you know... the little green bar that everyone worries about all the time. They have started updating the Google Toolbar PR MUCH more often than once every 3-4 months like they used to do.

Note my 2nd paragraph in this post on Page Rank.

They don't typically crawl every page daily... Some sites have their pages crawled once per month... Our site w/ 4,700,000 inbound links gets crawled all day every day of the year. But still, not EVERY page on the site is crawled daily.

But they are constantly updating "real" PR as the crawl other pages that link to you or pages that link to pages that link to you or pages that link to pages that link to pages that link to you and so on.
