if we have doubts shouldnt we ask i know wat is a backlink to get more info on tat i asked this question abt backlink? first admins should delete this type of comments on the forums.If only professionals should be there in the forum this site traffic will be reduced first think while posting the reply.
The first place that I would start, would be with some good directory submissions. These may cost you some money, but they're worth it. Start with the Yahoo Directory, BOTW and DMoz. Make sure you have a good site, or you may not be listed because they are hand edited.

Visit "do follow" forums, websites and comment in it. Write good articles in your website. You will see that people automatically share it and in that way increases your backlinks. Content is the King.
theres a few plugins you can get for firefox that make it obvious when your on a dofollow forum or site
