Hi Dp people I am new to link building and was wondering how many backlinks should I get for my new site on a daily basis. whether 50 is sufficient ? Whether article submission, social bookmarking and directory submission acts as backlinks ?

    regards

What ever you do, do NOT go mad! Only do a maximum of 30 links per day, that can be 10 posts with 3 anchor text links back to your site - this is what I did 4 months ago and now my sites are #2 and 4 out of 2,500,000.

I started doing forum posts or 2 weeks, 10 posts per day. Then I searched for "commentluv blogs", these allow you to leave your anchor text as your name without being penalised - but make the comment worth it!

Then I added a WP blog to my website, adding 1 post per week, then upping it to 2, 3 then 4 posts per week - this for month 2 & 3.

Then I started getting articles written for me and submitting them to ezine articles - this worked very well, I now submit 5 articles per week ONLY on ezines.

I am doing this agressively, as the market I am tragetting is worth it.

In order to get good backlinks, it is not about the amount of backlinks you have its the amount of quality backlinks your site contains. Thus, if you had backlinked into 20 PR 1-3 sites, 5 backlinks into PR5-7 sites would be much better :)

TechCombo is right, quality is better than quantity. Constant link building from quality and related sites is good for sites to be ranked on any keyword.

If the comments you are making are all high quality, is it okay to go over 30 per day?

In my experience you shouldn't really worry about getting too many backlinks.

You really have to be patientant when build a linking, and must follow the ethical rules. Average link which you can build is approx 20 to 40 per day. This surely helps your website to rank better in SERP. and keep update your content.

Greatest formula on earth for link building:

1.) Vary the anchor text in a 20/30/40/10
20% - with your site name
    30% - secondary keyword
    40% - primary keyword
10% - completely random (some "click heres", go here, etc...)

2.) Build til the house raises up...20/40/40
5% - Nofollow blogs/forums/whatever (Yes I know it doesn't pass credit but it mixes everything up and looks more natural)
    15% - Forums, BB, etc...
30% - Blog comments (.edu and .gov blogs too), directories, social book marking sites and the like
    50% - Manual link requests

You build with that formla right there and I guarentee you will have some championship back links in your future.

Here is a nice list of followed blogs (1000+) RADICAL DOFOLLOW FINDER

If you want a nice size list of EDU's then you can buy it here:
    relevant link finder pro

Have fun and if you use that method, you will be very happy. I've ranked plenty of sites nationally for competitive terms using that tried and true forumla for my link building. BE CREATIVE WHEN YOU DO YOUR MANUAL LINK REQUESTS. Those are the best links.

I am totally new to building back links. Anyone know of a good tutorial blog?

I'm currently adding about 5 to 8 blog posts to my site a week. If I post an article to an Ezine do I also post it on my own site??? I'm worried that will make it duplicate content??

Or am I just being dumb?? :)

I think you can take this further. Whilst Google PageRank is a figurative number relative to the number and quality of links, search engines are in the business of finding the best editorial content to attract and maintain a loyal searcher base.

Algorithms are designed to weed out the rubbish - so linking from half a million small directories and sources perhaps doesn't mean as much as having say your website featured in all the major global newspapers and topic-related blogs all at once.

Whilst establishing numbers is good, chasing high PR sites is better - think along with Google and go for quality!

** Remember, even if your link exchange partner has appalling traffic and PR - if it's amazing then surely that'll grow in the future. Links grow in value, so identify "growing markets" and seed links there.

Great post, I've been looking for a 'guide' to figure out how many backlinks are too many in a day. Good tips for the beginner to follow.

Post the article to your site ping it and then submit to ezine, google will credit you first.

You may find with a new blog that the article will out rank the post
