Why are results always different when you're logged in your google account. Also, when I check the results when my other friends are logged in the results are different too. Does google adapt the result according to each account. How do they do that?

It's like personalized search results when you search while logged in your Google Account.
Like dtodorova said, they takes your web history into consideration while showing up results.

Yep! Google tracks what you clicked, what you searched for in the past etc etc to come up with search results.
    No idea!

This is the main factor to get different results, when you get log in.

If you just want to check your positions - you need to AT LEAST not be logged in. Sophisticated seo tools check through national proxy servers...

Yea, when checking your SERPs, be sure to logout. I've often done a few search and thought, my god - how did I rank so well for that keyword? Then realised that actually I was logged in to my google account.

There was even a theory months ago that Google might suggest with the personal searches and include them in it's algorythm. It might sound kind of weird but we should be careful when we do something at our Google Accounts - cause Google sees everything...grrr
