How can I use social sites for marketing my web site?

I heard from some DP members about social bookmarking sites like http://del.icio.us & http://digg.com but how can this kind of websites for getting backlinks & free marketing to my website?

 

Write some great content and then submit it to Digg, Delicious, Reddit, StumbleUpon, Magnolia, etc.
Tell some friends to digg it (for initial boost) and cross your fingers

If you have luck you will get traffic + backlinks.

 

use this bookmarking tool to add a link to your website so that visitors can bookmark it for you

 

Very Easy!!! If you are a good writer, write articles. Submit bulletins. Post comments. if you are a good chatter, use word of mouth.

 

if u use wordpress then a plugin called sociable can be used..very easy to use

 

Even if no one visits it, you've got a backlink from a high PR website!

I'm surw Google will change that eventually but for now, take it while you can.

 

I agree with Zexy oh and always leave your link behind good way to build backlinks

 

And now for a dose of reality: You will get very little traffic.

I kind of agree. Not every story - good or bad- get great traffic results on sites like digg (and many more).
